This is from Icons website. Always confused me why they show a loaded truck for option 1.

I guess an unloaded truck wouldn’t look badass enough.

If I considered 6112’s….also with the 884 coils for no additional weight up front?

I don't think the OME coils work with the 6112s.

I think the 6112s have a 600# coil with an option for 650# . You have to do some googling !

Yeah, couldn’t find it, and don’t really know what that spring rate actually means in terms of performance and lift.

6112s are adjustable. I have mine at the highest setting . It’s just about 2.5”. Try @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc or @Toytec Lifts or @HeadStrong Off-Road

Some of this Some of that
Go with some lift coils for sure, I’ve got bilstein 5100 at 3rd clip with stock coils, lifts about 1.75. It’s alright but I’m already looking at replacing them with something a little better

Icons chart is about right. Give or take the specific trucks weight.

Thanks! I will probably change the plan to these and 6112/5160.

Based on your needs I would steer you towards an economical option:
    Front - 5100 w/ 884’s
Rear - OEM take-off leaf packs, Firestone RIDERITE airbags, 5100 shocks.
It would be really easy to do in regards to pre-assembled kits and readily available from reputable vendors.

I’m going to need a lift in the rear so OEM leafs are out unless you mean 3rd Gen. And even so, I want an upgrade in ride quality.

I’ve considered the air bags before but so only tow the boat locally (ramp is 6 miles from the house) and I don’t have that much sag when I do. The tongue weight is only 450 pounds, it’s a double axle trailer.

I’m with you on the 5100’s unless so decide to splurge with the 6112/5160 combo.

It 'technically' is un/loaded - if you look real carefully on #1, you can see thru behind the recovery boards, on #2 there seems to be more obstruction and on #3 they got the camper up top - but I completely agree that it is a huge fail on #1 b/c the recovery boards/stuff on the sides cover up the entire point they are trying to make. It took me a minute for sure -

I am gonna sub this - I have a 2013 AC OR with 60K miles on it and am starting to think about re/doing the suspension; the old one feels old and i am starting to not like it at all.

There was some sort of slight lift installed by the dealer, right after purchase, that I think was just spacers from crawling up there and looking.

I had hoped that if I made a Toyota account and viewed the service history, I could see the part # they installed - silly me, thinking I can actually see the F***ING records I know their system has..
all I can do is read they installed some lift kit @ 1,006miles - not the actual RO - and a less than one line summary, even when I download it - it is the same one line crap and beyond disappointing

For a 1.5” lift in the front…is there ANY reason to replace the UCAs?

Also….should I preemptively install the ECGS bushing? What is the likelihood this will need replacement post-lift?

Edit: also…I don’t need a diff drop right?

No diff drop. No carrier bearing/driveshaft shim.

I didn't need to do the ECGS bushing post lift.

Flat leaf springs are because there is no lift...that is how they are on a brand new truck. I was running the older Dakar leaf pack with the 3rd leaf removed (same as the new medium duty pack I believe) but have added the 3rd leaf back in because I have more weight on the truck now.

Look at upgrading the rear bumpstop (I went with the superbumps from wheelers).

UCAs aren't needed for the height lift you are looking for but if you go with an extended travel coilover or shocks with more travel the UCA should be upgraded so your upper ball joint isn't the limiting factor in your suspension travel.

Bilstein 5100s or 6112s are not extended travel right?

I will add, though you may not need new UCA - @stickyTaco is correct that those ball joints take some stress thru all of this, even with a little lift.
Since you have 72K miles on your truck and assuming the same mileage on the UCA, I would think about replacing the UCA or at least pressing new ball joints in.
All of those rubber bits in the suspension need to be carefully checked and most likely replaced when you do this - the new suspension will put more force/stress on already worn parts = more wear = you gonna have to take it all apart again soon enough to fix X or Y or Z.

I learned this the hard way in my E36
I did the suspension but didn't replace nor put new ball joints in the front control arms = excess tire wear on the inside of the front tires that was impossible to see b/c it was so tucked = me sliding off the road and 'techincally' totaling the car; the cats got smashed by a log on the side of the road and OEM cats = car value..
I got bought it back, fixed it with cheap/nonworking aftermarket cats + a new clutch + all those rubber bits then put another 100K miles on it before it was time to say good bye - I still miss that car every freaking day..

I just did the suspension on my 128I and replaced every bit of rubber/plastic/etc possible and when I do the Tacoma in a year, I am going to do it right, once, even if I have to hold off a bit to pay for it all.
I have no desire to do it a second time - been/there/done/that/trying to learn from my mistakes -

New ball joints is a great thought. The UCAs are probably fine but does it make any sense to replace them with a 1.5” lift anyway?
