Shouldn't take too much to completely remove the chrome? Seen it done on the BHLM... my friend was a little anal with the sanding haha. I'm about to take this on, I'm getting one for free here in a week.

The body shop that painted mine wouldnt pain over the chrome, they sanded it off before shooting paint.

I found a totaled Tacoma and had a local body shop paint match it. 175 out the door including the grill and paint. Then turn around and sell your grill for half your cost.

I painted my chrome grill also just went with a heavier sand paper n then a fine one didn't take the chrome off fully. Cleaned it all up sprayed it with adhesion promoter then primer n base coat the clear coated it. It came out very good considering I just rattle canned it n did it all in a weekend.

Thanks, the body shop dude did a good job, actually took him a few days of sanding and prep before he shot it.

I used paint from automotivetouchup.com to paint my rear bumper. I agree on sanding the chrome off first and using adhesion promoter on the plastic, but I see no reason to pay someone to apply the paint. I will probably do this if I ever get around to making a Satoshi.
