This bugs the crap out of me…either the factory, or the port, or the dealer attached my license plate holder crooked. Anyone got any good ideas on how to remedy it? The screws are self-tapped into the plastic, and the holder cannot move up or down.

Move the whole plate up until it's flush with the top edge of the bumper?
That way you know it's "level".

I would remove it and oblong one of the holes in the bracket itself with a file, bur bit, or drill bit. Reinstall and use the slotted hole to level it before tightening it down. The license plate will hide the fact the mounting screws are still crooked but the plate will be straight

The back of the plate holder is profiled to sit in that seam behind it. If moved up it doesn’t sit flush.

Pretty sure it's the dealer who does that, at least mine was done by the dealer. That really sucks, but I couldn't trust them to fix it.

Yep - I don’t need the dealer going anywhere near this one.

Your correct that’s a dealer thing , dealership did that to the rear of mine when they were putting their dealership tag holder on. :annoyed:

I wish dealerships would stop installing those and let the customer decide if they want it or not.

If the dealer does this on my truck, I won’t buy it.

The one without the plate wouldn't budge - they stuck to the "market adjustment" for the TH. So, I kept looking.

Might be a law or rule that the dealer needs to attach the front license plate before the customer can take delivery in some states. These are the states that require a front license plate.

The picture in post #1 would bug me too.

Alabama where I’m at doesn’t require front tags , so they don’t put them on unless it’s going to a state that requires them.

Or get some of these and make sure you cut the square holes level. Should be able to cut with an exacto knife.

Mine is probably in worst shape, it’s in a landfill somewhere. Stupid politician ran on a platform of eliminating the front license plate. Stupider voters took the bait. It’s the only promise he ever kept. Exotic vehicles look better without, for the rest, moot point.

Thankfully I got my truck in PA, they don't install the front plate. It's not going on, and my state requires it. I had no issues for over a year on my 2023, so going to stay with no front plate.

I haven’t had a front plate on a vehicle, especially my sports cars, in 25 years. The law is only enforced by the highway patrol outside of the big cities.
