Im in Cali, have to have a front plate..
Reserved a truck few weeks back, not at dealer yet...
The plate gets installed by the PDI guys at the dealer...
My dealer had zero issues not installing the plate holder, they made a note...
    I will remind them..

I think I will take my chances not installing the front plate. In NY we are required, but many cars (mostly sport cars) only run a rear plate. My last new vehicle had a crooked plate holder on the front and I had to make some adjustments.

Returning the truck is the only way to hold these manufacturers accountable!!
    /s

Just drill the hole up higher on the tall side of the holder OP, takes 20 seconds.

The holder itself is attached with one screw, hidden behind the license plate. The other 2 screws at the top go through the plate and the holder and are self-tapping. If I make the hole larger there’ll be nothing for the screw to grab onto. Unless i’m misunderstanding the suggestion. I’m going to try the plastic inserts in bigger holes when I get a chance.

I appreciate the tips, though

I would drill lower on the high side. Throw away the screws and put a small bolt through it instead. By drilling the high side lower the bolt will still be resting on the plastic so even if it came a little loose it wouldn’t have room to slide down like it would if you drilled the low side higher.

Oh, so there's a screw not visible? But only one? It can't just rotate then...?

OK I fussed with it a while and by adding the two fasteners at the bottom I was able to elongate the top left hole. It’s maybe not 100% perfect but now good enough for me to make peace with it.

Now if there was a way to get rid of the camera the TSS sensor and the forward parking sensors that would be great, a crooked plate or even having to run a front plate does not bother me. That license plate will live on long after all those electronics have failed.

Every time I see a front plate I'm happy I live in AZ where we don't need them.

Have heard the thing where a dealer is REQUIRED to drill into your bumper tho.

Also lucked out that my 87 Supra originally came from Indiana which doesn't require them either and its bumper is unmolested <3

you say this, my friend and fenced his backyard, the last section we did there are a ton of extra nails all crooked and crappy looking, we went to this bar at the golf course down the road and we were putting down some drinks. it looks pretty bad but heck was a great time.

think those lights are installed at the "port" or at the dealershp.

I did wonder that, but didn't know for sure. If the dealership, shame on them also.

what is wild is lots of those kinds of things have a cardboard template that you line up. or behind the plastic on the body thee are cut guides.

know when I worked for Honda and Subaru the fog lights on the original bumpers there were alignment markings you used to cut.
