You are like me, my lab goes everywhere with me. Even on cool days I won’t leave him in the truck unless I’m close by and have visual on him and the truck. They are family, ya gotta take care of them.

Do a good once over of the trailer before you leave Uhaul then a good once over every morning after that. Ive moved cross country several times one time with a Uhaul truck another time with a Uhaul trailer. Had to have a tire replaced on both during the trip due to wear.

Also invest in one of these. If you have/want to leave the trailer somewhere it will make it alittle harder for someone to steal.

Did a trip in May from NC to Boston with a fully loaded 5x8 trailer and stuff in the bed. My MPG went down to approx. 16 mpg, but other than that everything was fine. Take it slow and watch for swaying, and you will be fine.

Well just pulled into my folks place in Oregon an hour ago, wanted to thank everyone for the advice.

Truck did fine aside from the wonky shifting at I-80 speeds on anything other than flat ground (even with ECT and s5 on inclines). And Toyota definitely needs to rework their cruise control programming but other than that my Taco was very capable of the trip and I really shouldn’t have been worried lol.
