Cross Nevada "all dirt" expo trip

Getting pretty thin.

 

Is everyone ready? I'm paying the price for procrastination having to work on my truck in the heat. Got all my driveline fluids changed yesterday, and today I finally got a correctly sized spare tire and ran the wires to my CB. I'll get it tuned Tuesday morning.
I'll probably camp on Peavine Wednesday night, as TJ suggested. Is there an exact spot for us to meet Thursday?

 

Anybody up for a meet Wednesday evening? Since you'll be in town? Even if it is on peavine

You guys should all meet up at the shop Wednesday afternoon/evening. Give the rigs a last once over, and we can get done food and a brew before you head up the hill. Shit, I'll hit up peavine with you guys, still bummed about the expo.

 

I wont be in town until about 10p. Wish these temps would stick around, these low 70s are nice. And snow in the mountains starting today until Wednesday!! Woot! I'll finish up getting all my stuff ready tonight and tomorrow night. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

 

Finished all my shit this weekend but decided not to paint the sliders until I get back since the dirt roads will just eat them up again. Other than that I'm pretty much ready. I'm going to bug out of work about 3 on Wednesday so maybe I'll grab a six'r and roll by the shop.

 

Dont forget bugspray. I was eaten alive yesterday morning while fishing. Nasty little turds.

 

Well after today I'm out, we had an incident at one of our sites today and I just found out that the root cause investigation is this Thursday being the safety guy I have to be there. My wife and I really wanted to make it this sucks. Sorry guys.

 

Damn, that makes three of you. Any one have an FM/HAM radio? I'll keep mine on if you do, just in case...

Ditto. It sucks when shit you can't control interferes with what you have planned!

 

Got about everything loaded up last night. Got to finish up the food tonight, and change my ball joint and I'll be ready to roll.

 

I spend about an hour in the garage last night consolidating my kitchen action packer into a smaller one since I'm not rolling with the whole 'kitchen' this trip. Got all my bedding stuff together and grabbed my fishing rod and bag.

Of course my headlamp that I constantly use while working on shit has seemed to misplace itself. I know how to find it though, go buy a new one and I'm sure it'll show up. I'll just keep it packaged until the last minute so I can return it if I do find my other one.

And off to Total Wine after work to grab some good beer in cans.

 

Got the CB tuned this morning. Got shopping done. Now time for a nap.

 

What time you planning on rolling into town tomorrow? You coming up from Vegas, yes?

 

I'll leave Vegas at about 9am and that should put me in the Reno area 4-5pm. I'll PM my cell # to you and TJ shortly so we can have better contact.

 

I will be in Reno tomorrow night probably about 10. I still havent found anyone here to tune my cb, so I will probably try to get that done at the petro first thing thursday morning. The cb shop opens at 730, so I am going to try to be there as soon as they open.
