Cross over mounting in front doors

Hey guys just a quick question about mounting cross overs . Where are you guys mounting them? I'm looking for the safest place, and open to ideas. I have heard horror stories about moisture in our doors and don't want them to get messed up. Thanks in advance!

 

I mounted them with heavy duty double-sided tape up high on the door panel almost underneath the armrest. No issues so far for over two years now and my truck is always parked outside.

I put mine under the rear seats. I just made a little stand for them. You can see it in my build page on the 1st post.

 

Cool I will check that out. But that is most likely where I'm mounting the amp but thanks I'll look into your build thread

 

I have seen many x-overs get a ton of moisture when mounting them in the doors.
Mount them in the truck, under the seats

 

manethon that is exactly what I'm afraid of. I will be sound deadening the doors but I know that really won't take care of the moisture. This is my first audio install and I want it done right. I hate tearing the same stuff apart later on just to do over

 

Do they need to be vented at all?

 

I'm not sure on that one they come with this set of speakers pioneer stage 4 ts-c172 prs

You can also mount in the glove box. But its easy to steal.

 

I'm figuring on mounting the crossovers in the storage compartment drivers side under the rear seat. The amp I'll put under the drivers seat this way it will be easier to get most of the wiring under the center console

 

I have mine mounted in the doors for over 5 years without a single issue. Door is covered in dynamat. The next closest location i would relocate them if needed to is the kicker panel. Plenty of room.

I mounted mine in the under seat storage bin on the drivers side.

 

Back before I went active I also mounted them behind the kick panel..also easier to run the wire as you only gotta run one run from the crossover to the amp..and two short ones from door to the kick panels.

 

This is exactly what I was thinking of

 

I cut some of the foam out of the door and placed mine there. Never been a problem.
