How you guys doing? I skipped out on the '14 open, but did this year. Havent been to a box in about a year and a half, so I wanted to see how I did compared to when I was working out solely at a cf gym. I know theres all sorts of variables to consider, but definitely fitter when I was doing cf at a box than at my gym at work (limited space/equipment). Anyway, heres where I'm at so far in '15.

    15.1 - 150
    15.1a - 195
    15.2 - 115
    15.3 - 316

I'm predicting box jumps, burpees and pistols for 15.4

My best open was '13 for sure. I've been nursing some patellar tendonosis for the past year so I've lost a lot of strength and conditioning.

Skipped the Open this year. Just wanted to get back to the roots...fun and effective. I've been hitting BrandX workouts for the last month and have been so far impressed by the results.

I've been CrossFitting for about 5 years now--off and on--and I just can't get enough of it. Good stuff.

Yeah that was brutal. We were visiting Raleigh for the weekend so I did it at Invoke. Christmas Abbot ended up sitting next to my wife and they watched me get destroyed by 15.5.

I'm a fan of Crossfit but I'm less than satisfied w/ the gym I go to right now, and I'm looking for another one. The gym I go to now is very "clicky" and if you're not in their "in group" you are almost completely ignored.

    Bone stock. For now.
Where are you located? You could try going to the mainsite and searching for a new box by zip code.

Been considering Xfit for a while now. I have planter fasciatis in my foot and once that goes gown I might take the switch. Im at a regular gym and I get bored with it. They have a basketball court where you can do some HIIT training but it can get crowded or they have other classes going on in there. Ive been lifting my whole life and 35 now not getting the results I want, looking for something new.

Don't be scared to give it a try, even with your plantar fasciitis. Just be sure to tell your trainer about any physical issues you may have. Also, don't be afraid to try more than one box. Find one that fits you, and find one with coaches who care.

totally agree man. Love crossfit and will always continue training this way, following the main site or one of 2 others I've found that has logical programming. But as a whole, the newer group of owners/trainers and members has really turned me off to it. Actually considered going back to a box in the spring. Drove over to one, sat in the parking lot for a minute and turned right around. I just can't do it. Working on my garage gym but in the meantime, my gym at work has everything we need except for a ceiling high enough for wall balls and rope climbs. Easy subs though.

One of my reservations about Xfit is the group setting. I usually go to the gym to be alone during the day and break up the workday. (i work from home when not traveling). I think one of them near me has just open gym hours where you can just do the WOD with no instruction. Ill check them out in a few weeks.
