Those burpees were a little weak though, no? Pushup part looked real good, but hardly any effort on the jumping part of them. We have to slap a 9ft string hanging down. Well, its tailored to a persons height. ie: girls have like a 7.5 or just under 8... something like that.

I hate missing days, I feel guilty and feel like crap. I was really impressed with myself today. My 1 rep max press was 120, and today we did a 5x5 press where you keep the same weight the whole time and I did 115 with no fails. The very last one wasnt pretty, but I got it.

    The wod was
    15-11-8-11-15
    95lb push jerk
    lunges
situps (some of us did it with an ab mat)

Did it in 5:38. I was shocked because it was the 5th fastest time of the day.

Ok, she did good, but those burpees would not have counted in a competition. She didnt even get off the ground on some. I know she is wearing a vest and all but there was no lift at all.

There's no jump hieght requirement at the games, or least there hasn't been. Obviously if the feet do not leave the ground yes, but you can do a small jump. Take into factor the WOD. We did a qualifier for my gym last year, 3rd WOD was on the beach. 100 burpees came up and though it didn't "look" like I was, I assure you my big ass was coming off the ground.

I was under the impression you had to actually leave the ground and arms had to be fully extended and touch above the head? It is just what I have heard so I dont know the games rules I guess. We have a sectional on the 27th in San Jose, I am gonna try to go down to it. I think it would be cool.

Sectionals are definatley sweet and a humbling experience as well as the games. You would not believe some of the athletes. Anyways, arms fully extended (not sure about touching; I think you're right but IIRC I've seen hands just shoot straight up) and Leave the ground. Doesn't have to be a large leap as some competitors keep their legs spread open

I noticed her legs were wide (insert joke here) and I wonder if that helps  Also I would just be watching, no way in hell could I compete in the games.

I dunno how that owuld help, seems like a hinderance. I think you'd use less energy bringing your legs closer. Yeah I was gonna try this year, but the knee issue really affected it. There's always next year

I dunno if anyone already mentioned this (too many pages to read the whole thread....I'm lazy). If you like Crossfit, you should take a look at Crossfit Football. It's a much better program, IMO. Crossfit is more endurance and just wears you down. Crossfit Football starts with a Strength WOD to increase your power and strength, then has a daily WOD to wear you out like regular Crossfit. It's a better program for functional training.

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish as well. CFF was developed specifically for football/larger power athletes. I like to mix it up a bit, mostly just like the heavier wieghts. Crossfit endurance is a good program as well and Sealfit looks like a good ole kick in the dick. IMHO it would be more beneficial to be proficient at Sealfit and supplement with CFF on easy days or what have you.

Very true, Toucan. I prefer CF Football due to my job, which can require me to use a lot of power and explosion. For me, it's the best fit. I'd also say it's very good for anyone into boxing, martial arts, or anything else where you need endurance, but also explosion in intervals.

Tabata workout killed me this morning....
