Ok fellas just wondering if anyone has had the spare tire or gas tank crossmember begin to rust?

The other week I had notice that both had small rust holes in them and decided to make an appointment to have my local toyota dealer inspect the frame. I went in dropped it off and didn't mention anything about it. When it came out the rep said they found the holes in the crossmembers and were going to contact corporate and see if it counts toward the frame recall or not since they can be unbolted and replaced. So now I wait to hear back from them.

In the mean time I was just wondering if anyone has a similar situation and how they made out?

Well just heard back and it's not covered :-( They quoted me $2700 for them to do it! F that! I was looking at the part online the other day and it looks like they are $250 a piece. Think I'm going to do it myself. Anyone know of any other options? Or just getting a piece of channel and welding it on? Any ideas?
