So i am not happy with the $250 upgrade thread. I purchased a 4 channel amp to drive these new kicker speakers and make then a bit louder.

I am now realizing that the tweeter and 3way front speaker are wired together. My question is can i just use an aftermarket passive crossover for $10 to run the suburu tweeters and regular 3way 6x9 kicker speaker or do i need to ditch the brand new 79$ kicker speakers and buy 129$ component 6x9 woofers with crossovers and tweeters.

Or do i just run the speaker wires from the anp back behind the head unit and connect to factory wiring and call it a day. Im trying to #1 upgrade to 16g wire and #2 avoid blowing tweeter with amp

Im slowely realizing this audio build isnt as cheap as i thought it was gonna be

You can just wire a capacitor in series to the tweeter - no need for an entire crossover network since you're only high-passing. Just figure out where you wanna cross over, find the impedance of the tweeters, and order accordingly (lots of charts available via google). I still don't understand using 4 tweeters up front though. Don't you have tweeters in the coax? I'd try it without the extra tweeters first & see if they're even needed.

I decided since im doing it to do it right and got components and all new wiring. Hopefully i can sell the speakers and tweeters i purchased before. If i new i was going with an amp to start id gone components first anyway. This system and my 10” sub should be great sounding ince its done.
