I love aerospace 303 products so I decided to try the cleaner I use on my tonneau cover on all the rubber trim before I resulted to any other harm chemicals. Seemed to work really well, just sprayed it on, scrubbed it a little with a scrub brush and sprayed it off. Didn't take any before pics but mine looked similar to the pics in the OP...here is after.
I also sprayed it all over the rubber on all the other Windows too as they were nasty looking too.

Are you washing and applying a rubber trim dressing regularly to keep the rubber clean and conditioned?

If not that stuff will oxidize and degrade over time and eventually start cracking and peeling. Have to take care of that stuff.

Hot soapy water. Green scotch bright and a steady hand. Then I used mink oil for boots. Worked for me. Id up load a pic if it weren't harder to do than removing the crud from the window trim.

    Tons of gay shit
Bleach and warm water work great but I was too nervous about getting it on my paint so gave up.

+1 for this. Use some painters tape too so you don't waste time being careful not to hit the paint.

I have this exact thing too. Living in Florida, the sun beats the crap out of rubber. I've had this happen to my previous trucks, it's happening to the rubber on my Volvo too.

I've cleaned it with Simple Green, Dawn detergent, Windex and other stuff I don't remember. I've found Simple Green with a worn out scotch brite pad works about the best.

It will come back though, no matter what dressing I use on the rubber, it always comes back. I need a 5 car garage!

A guy messaged me years ago to use a magic eraser...works like a charm. Then some protectant afterwards like 303.

The magic eraser was the only thing that really got it clean the easiest.

Try some Turtle Wax Ice on it after you get it clean. See how that holds up.

You sure that won't whiten the rubber?

No, the Ice is clear and works well on plastics. It doesn't whiten like a traditional wax.
