I just bought an 08 Tacoma, v6, 4wd, access cab, trd, 140k miles. The only issue I'm having with it, is sometimes the cruise doesn't work (indicator will not come on and it will not set), and when this happens, I also lose my power passenger door mirror. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might cause either of these issues, or how they might be related?

Often cruise failure is the spiral cable behind the steering wheel. But horn function and maybe turn signals are the secondary symptoms in most of those cases.

Can't imagine how the mirror issue is tied in to the cruise issue, unless someone has cobbled up underdash wiring in some way adding on other 'stuff' and managed to get them interlinked somehow.

Come to think of it, I don't know if I'd ever recognize that problem if I had it. I adjust my mirrors before driving, so I'd normally not mess with it when in a place I was trying to engage cruise............. :notsure:

Do you have an aftermarket security system in the vehicle?

Is the cruise original on the truck or the DIY version. If the later check the 1C driver's side junction box behind the coin tray as this would be the only place it is powered. All other connections are grounds except the wire from the engine ECU to the instrument cluster that turns on the CC light.
