In my 2008 TRD off-roads cruise control work intermittently. I thought it was the switch on the steering wheel causing the issue, as it was loose. But I replaced the switch and screws and I still can’t get it to work right. Any suggestions as to what may cause this?

Does the light turn on when you press the on/off button on the switch?

    Yep.
2nd vote for spiral cable, especially if it's the original.

Can you induce a failure while turning?

Spiral X 3. I replaced the stick the first time my cc went out also. It was the spiral, which also affects air bag and steering wheel controls. If you gonna cheap out ( I did) and get Chinese part, get two cause one is likely to be faulty. But, they can be worth it. $15 each, or $150 for oem.
