I need some help from the gurus on this site.
I had a lot of work done to give my 2009 TRD OR 4x a refresh. The dealer fixed the leaks at the valve cover gaskets and the timing cover gasket as well. The front axle seals and boots were replaced too.
Upon driving away from the shop two weeks ago I immediately noticed my ac was not working. The light was just blinking. Brought it back right away and they found the tech had forgotten to reconnect something behind the front wheel (there’s a point to me telling you this).
It wasnt until today while driving down the interstate that my cruise control is behaving weird. Sometimes the cruise light comes on, sometimes not. Sometimes when its on the cruise functions dont respond. Sometimes the cruise light cant be turned off.
My question is, in the extensive work that I described (timing and valve cover gaskets replaced…which was a huge tear down of the top of the engine) is there something in the pathway for the cruise control to work properly that would have been affected by such work? Something simple like the ac issue?
I called the dealer and of course they said no but to bring it in.

    Rant [ON] OFF.

Ive always been happy with the dealer’s work until fairly recent. Last July, when they did the coolant flush n fill, they forgot to put the radiator cap back on. With my short commute, I didnt notice it for a week until my temp gauge was fluctuating. The cap was wedged where they normally put it while working on it. Where the hood latch is. It fit so well it did not prevent them from closing the hood.
Then, the ac issue where they forgot to reconnect something with the ac after a bunch of unrelated work.

I feel like something got missed but want some unbiased opinions.
Also, the suspension work is the last piece and Im having someone else do a complete suspension overhaul plus lift. Once done, Ima post the final pics.
Here is the truck with the new wheels and tires. On Monday Im having the OME MT 64 kit put on plus new upper and lower control arms.

You say behind the front wheel? Was the steering wheel off for work? If so, a connector on the clock spring may not have been fully seated.

Steering wheel was not off during the work.
While snooping around I discovered a tsb on this very issue. Many people had similar issues. Not sure if it still applies to a 16 year old truck but its worth a try.

Yes, the horn works. As do the other controls on the steering wheel.
