Cruise control not working

    2002 toyota tacoma pre-runner 2WD Automatic
    So when I turn on the cruise control the light turns on but when I try and set the cruise the light will turn off. any suggestions? 2002 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner 2WD v6 3.4L.

    2002 Lunar Mist Tacoma TRD V6 4x4 Manual
    Mostly stock - but I do have a suction cup phone holder - its pretty sweet
    If it is a manual, put your foot BEHIND the clutch and pull it up so the pedal is completely back ‘home’. The springs wear down over the years. It is my understanding that the springs are easy to replace.

    If it is an auto, I am not sure.
