When trying to set the cc on my auto v6, nothing happens, the light doesn't even come on. I tried searching and found that this commonly happens with manuals or when there is a malfunction with the breaks. But I have an auto and the breaks appear to be working. So any suggestions on what it might be or where to start looking, would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you had the spiral cable replaced yet for the service campaign? There is a good possibility the issue is either within the switch/stalk, or the spiral cable. There is no module like the older trucks because the ecm takes care of it through the throttle motor assembly. The spiral cable is all that connects the cruise switch, the horn switch, and the airbag to the rest of the truck, and these spiral cables are a weak point.

Thanks for the suggestion and welcome to tw! I have not had it replaced, do I need any paper work to get this service done by the dealership? Also the horn still works, is it possible that the other things that run off that cable will still work, just not the cc?

Thanks, and no they don't need the paperwork. They can check your VIN to see if it needs the campaign. It could be switch or wiring as well. Part of the spiral cable can break leaving some things working and other parts not working. I would approach it by having them check for and do the campaign if necessary, and if the problem is still there, then diagnosis may be necessary. I cannot remember on this truck if an active test with the scan tool is available for the cruise stalk. The main reason for this campaign is the airbag portion of the spiral cable breaking, which is a safety issue. However, this does not mean that the rest of the circuits that use the spiral cable can't be affected. Good luck and I hope your fix is free.
