About a month ago coming home from a hunting trip my cruise wouldn't engage. Light comes on in dash but cruise doesn't work. Research shows that since the light is on it's likely not a fuse but actually the mechanism in the wheel. Also read where "be very careful around airbag" when replacing it. Hmmm. I'll be selling it very soon and really don't want to fix anything else I already have before letting it go and especially at the risk of creating another issue.

Thoughts? Is it hard to fix etc.?

    Thanks

I got nothing unless it’s the clock spring.
It’s very easy to replace. If it is the problem make sure you order the correct one, different for radio controls or not on the steering wheel. Goood luck

If you can turn the light on and off with the switch that tells me the clockspring is good because all functions on the cruise are on a single wire.
I would make sure the brake and clutch (if equipped) cancel switches are working properly.
What year and engine do you have? I can post a wiring diagram.

2005 4 banger standard trans. Clutch cancel switch works fine. I will check the third brake light as soon as rain quits. 5" in 24 hours so far.

    Thanks everyone.

    Here you go.
There's 2 switches on the clutch pedal, one is for the cruise the other is for the starter.

Well I got under there and I can tell which one is the clutch cancel starter switch but nothing else that looks like a switch to me.

The one for the cruise is at the top of the pedal assembly near where it pivots and is depressed when the pedal is released, the one for the starter is closer to the firewall and is depressed when the pedal is released.

Thanks Dm93. If you have that wiring diagram it might me help figure this thing out. Otherwise it'll be the new owners challenge.
