I'm on my 4th one including the original.

To be fair the last two I bought were $25 each off eBay.

I’ve been reading a lot of ABS threads. Seems like people that are having ABS problems aren’t really mentioning anything about their cruise control being effected. Kind of concerning. I also read a few threads that implied that even if the problem is fixed, the system has to be reset using a “Toyota scanner or equivalent software” - not an OBD II scanner. Is this valid? I really don’t want to go back to the dealership. Can auto zone or oreillys reset these kinds of codes?

The code the dealership found was C0205. I googled the code and it gave a variety of things that could be the problem. I’m just trying to get some facts straight, if anyone has any input or knows of any ABS gurus, please let me know!

    The Toyota service manual says:

    • Speed sensor
    • Speed sensor circuit
    • Speed sensor installation
    • Brake actuator (skid control ECU)

Inspect the wire harness and if you find nothing wrong replace the sensor. It could also be a crappy wheel bearing and metal chips in the tone ring grease that the sensor reads.

I went to dealership, they quoted me something like $400 for spiral cable. $800 to replace. I asked about recall. The said never heard of it.

I like my Toyota (and my Dealership) but many new car dealers can really KMA. Find the TSB in this thread, print out the whole TSB then go back to the dealer (or another if nearby) and place it in the Service Managers hand.

At this dealership it’s hard to even get a test drive

Just to update this old thread, I ended up replacing the wheel speed sensor and my ABS light went away - but still no cruise control. So, I ordered and installed a new spiral cable from ebay. Problem solved.

Thanks for closing the loop. Can you post which cable you used? does anyone have a link to the TSB?
