Anyone have any issues with their cruise control? It seems 95% of the time I can't get the system to turn on at highway speed (no green light will illuminate). Not sure if its spiral cable related, or the switch on the steering wheel stalk. Anyone out there have any similar problems?

No air bag light, horn still works - all indications are spiral cable is fine. However from time to time if you turn the wheels from lock to lock while pushing the cruise button, the green light will illuminate - making me believe the poor connection is in the spiral cable.

    Thoughts ?

This is the exact problem I'm having with my 2000 Taco 3.4L. I've been searching and searching, and all cruise control problems seem to be "not engaging, but light still illuminates;" whereas, our problem is CC not engaging and no light illuminating! Totally different problem...?
I've gone thru and checked all fuses, which all are still good, and now I'm temped into checking the relay, wires and the switch itself.

Anybody know of anything else before I go thru a bunch of crap???

Have you had the spiral cable replaced under the recall yet, if your truck qualifies? If not, see what happens after that. Pretty easy to test the switch stalk resistances as well, maybe someone with the FSM can post the resistance specs for each switch function.

Edit: Whoa, old post. Did you resolve it yet?

Try the first gen section, but I'd be testing the switch resistances and spiral cable resistance first. Totally different system as yours isn't drive by wire throttle.
