I am trying to install power wire for cruise control, how do you "unlock" or open the pin connectors so that you can get the pins all the way in?

There is a special tool to remove pins from a connector. You may be able to use a paper clip to unlock it, but it's easy to mess up the connector or your fingers. There is a factory harness you can get. It made my install quick and painless.
