Is this normal? Cruising 45+ will feel a constant vibration.

Brought it to local dealer last month. They drove it 5 minutes and said they couldn't replicate. Took it on a road trip from Louisiana to Georgia and it vibrated the whole trip. Nothing crazy, but it's there... and it's constant. Got back and made another appointment through Toyota Corporate with same dealership. They did the same exact thing. Drove it 5 minutes and said they couldn't replicate. Asked them to take it to the interstate so they can drive out of traffic and cruise and the service advisor said they are not allowed that far. The dealer won't take the wheels off to test...

I this a tire problem? I have owned TRD Off Roads before in 3rd gen (this is my 3rd) and this is not a normal experience. I am fairly certain I had the same Goodyears on all the trucks.

Take it to a tire shop and have them check out the tires. Could be a tire out of balance, unevenly worn tires etc. or if that is all good could be a worn suspension part.

Was the truck new? Could be a bad tire (broken belt, etc) as well.

A vibe could be anything. I always start with asking myself what changed?
If nothing, step 2 grab a torque wrench and start checking bolts.
Bolts or bushings are a good cause but yours is pretty new so I wouldn't think bad bushings.

Did the shop rotate the tires back to front? That's usually a good way to determine tires.

Have a friend drive it and give you an opinion about whether it is reproducible.

I called my dad and my buddy who came on a 4 state road trip and asked if I was overreacting. They said it’s not horrible but it is vibrating. $42k compact truck shouldn’t be acting like this. Just asking for issues down the road.

Ask your dealer if you can test drive another.
Sounds like they don’t want to spend time on it, as the warranty job is small.
When I was in for service, I gave my dealer complaints off the TSB for updates about transmission shifting, care to guess what they did? They drove 3 or 4 tenths of a mile (I took before and after pics of odometer) and said “cant replicate the customer complaints”.
After leaving a negative review, the unhappy service manager called and asked how we could get me in and write a positive review. I simply told him since I already made arrangements (work and a ride) his guys can come to my office, pick up the truck, give it an actual test drive and fix what needed to be done. Seems fair to me, I spent the time, they didn’t.
    He declined, as did I.

Local dealer just had 3 SRs on the lot all with street tires, so it wouldn't have been comparable. I am going to the dealer I bought my truck from 1:38 minutes away Monday morning. I told them I wasn't leaving until we figured it out, so I am bringing my work laptop and working from there. It's either going to be diagnosed Monday with a fix in progress or I am stopping at Ford/Chevrolet and trading it in. I am over this. I owe $15000 less than MSRP. Even if they gave me $38k, I'd be $11k positive on a trade.

Just had my Connected Services update. They took the truck 2 miles through 2 traffic lights during lunch traffic and turned around. They were not trying to diagnose it.

Balance could be an issue. But also that could just be the difference between highway and off road/AT tires even though they're more highway oriented than some. I've also heard that the TRDOR can have more drive line vibrations in general. I've never driven another trim level of Tacoma so I can't say one way or the other on that. However, I have driven an SR5 Tundra and 4Runner and they both seem smoother. But they also had a more road oriented suspension and highway tires.

Road Force balance...I had same issue at 55mph. Took to Discount Tire and had them rebalance.

The first 3rd gen TRDOR I test drove off the lot in 2019 had a vibration/steering wheel shake at around 55. They took it into service at least 2 times - it got progressively better but was still not right. I drove another vehicle from another dealer and it drove smooth. I believe I looked at the tires a year ago and the production date on one or two tires was different. The truck you drive/buy off the lot is the one your stuck with. Hope they resolve the issue for you post sale.

Local dealer refused to road force it. I even told them I'd pay to test it and if nothing was wrong, I understood.

Not sure if this helps you, but I just had Goodyear Ultraterrain ATs put on (265/70/17) and I'm am noticing a vibration as well at freeway speeds. Not terrible but annoying. The tire shop (discount tires) had to put a lot of weight on some of my new wheels to balance, so I'm not ruling out that the balance might be off still, right now I'm chalking it up to having more agressive AT tires than I had on before. I'm going to have it re-balanced when the shop swaps out the wheel weights for black ones to match my wheels once they get them back in stock - hopefully that will help.

If it has a lot of weight, that tire should be changed out if new...or at VERY least, re-mounted and balanced.
