I'm getting a crunching metal sound from my lower control arm. The noise happens when I turn the wheel to the left, over a bump, and or in reverse as well as when applying the break at under 5mph. (even louder when 4x4 is enaged)
I had my good ole mom turn the wheel left, right, left, right, left, right, for a while until I clearly felt it coming from the back side of the passenger lower control arm but not felt on the front side of the arm.

Does anyone know what this can be? noise was a little present when I got my allignment done, I always thought it was brake pad play but it's gotten louder and louder....

I searched and searched all I was able to find was sway bar noises, which i previousley had but with a sway bar relocater bracket fixed that.......

Does anyone know what the lower control arm torque specs are, and does anyone know if I'll throw my aligment off while re-torquing (cams)?? I'm almost thinking this my be the problem, I now recall my truck screaming some horrid noises the last time they did my alignment......

    Thanks.

The lower ball joint attachment is torqued to 118#, and the cam adjusting bolts are toqued to 100#'s. You may want to have the dealer look at it if your under warranty.
