I ordered a new nut but it's not quite right

    driveshaft nut.jpg

I chased the threads of the old one with a tap (and some 15W40 just to piss off every machinist out there :luvya:) and put it back together the "right" way by remembering to follow instructions and torque specs. I also put some blue loctite on for good measure and staked the nut with a chisel so it shouldn't be coming apart again :homer:

Also made a point to hit all the u joint zerks with a fresh fill of Red N Tacky grease

Got my test wheel in. It clears the caliper with about 3/32", folded paper to check :luvya:

They may rub when you hit the brakes, my trail readys did.

Dont tell TW but I used the .5" spacers that go between the wheel and the rotor, I'm actually typing this from hell because I died using them.

@Speedytech7 warned me that the wheels might flex enough to kiss the calipers while cornering hard.

I am not opposed to those kinds of spacers :notsure:

I've been working really, really hard to get organized the last few months and it's going OK. All my tools are organized and put away when not in use and it's making life a lot easier

Dug out the set of injectors that I bought last fall to start preparing them to go in to the truck. Hopefully it fixes my rough idle and intermittent rich CEL that a replacement MAF and new plugs and wires have not been able to clear up.

I am gonna order o-rings for them even though the existing ones seem fine. I used a 9v to check all of them and sprayed carb cleaner through two of them before the battery died.

Finished cleaning the rest of the injectors and got my new intake gaskets and o rings in the mail so I started tearing into things.

Where the tape is there was no gasket between the upper and lower intake. I'm sure that's been part of my weird idle :homer:

There are definitely more tire options in 35s for 17s than there were in 15s

OEM for the gaskets? I plan on doing valve cover gaskets eventually so I should probably start getting this list going. I've got that, plugs, wires, and vac hoses on my list.

Yeah, the OEM gaskets from ToyotaPartsDeal came to about the same price as the FelPro ones from Advance anyways.

I thought about doing the valve cover gaskets while I'm in here. Maybe I should still do that

Intake plenum gaskets 2x needed: Toyota PN 17176-62040

Man im jealous of you guys outside of Mudland for having such clean engine bays. I'm pathologically scared of ever adjusting the valves or changing seals, for fear of a chunk of shit falling in there. I treat the internals like a reactor core, certain death if its exposed to the outside air.

Its called a water hose... put your thumb over it to get a low pressure stream of water that cleans the dirt off
