I've thought with this recent price action that it seems really odd that with ETH and BTC increasing so much, why aren't they just blasting off parabolically like in previous market cycles?
I think this is due the the fact that there are many more institutional investors in the game and they are heavy in BTC and some in ETH. This means they can manipulate the market similar to what we see in the stock market. For years, crypto enthusiasts have been calling for the flood of money coming in once the big boys show up. Well now they are here and are turning the market and charts into something different than we saw in 2013 and 2017. They are taking profits at each of these tops by selling to the retail investor. So we may not see that huge parabolic, blow off tope ending this year in BTC. And instead see a Wycoff Distribution with three slightly higher tops that eventually falls off a cliff.

IDK of course, only time will tell. I'm just trying to come up with different potential scenarios incase things are playing out a little differently this time around.

I also want to note that if this top aligns with the top in March, alts ran pretty hard for about a week while BTC just ranged before falling for about 1.5 weeks and heading up again. Just other indicators we can possibly look for in the market.

I agree just like in June when things were looking amazing they decide to just drop it 50% out of nowhere. I feel like whoever these institutions are don’t want BTC to get to high and have retail investors Fomo in and buy up more BTC. Which is why I agree with your analysis and others on the internet where it gets close to 100k and then it gets dropped on its head so people panic and sell and institutions can load up again on the cheap. I understand why people think $250,000 BTC is coming this year but I also understand the corruption of big money.

I respect your opinion and conviction. I am not here trying to be the market bear, I'm just showing what I see and how I am planning around that. I hope that your plan works out well for you. Ultimately we're all retail investors and traders trying to beat the system.

I am a BTC and ETH long term holder, however I will be selling almost all so I can accumulate again in the bear market in much larger quantities.

My current portfolio breakdown as of this morning:
    XRP 49%
    ADA 9%
    Zcash 6%
    EOS 6%
    Dash 5%
    HBAR 5%
    BCH 4%
    XTZ 4%
    LINK 3%
    ALGO 3%
    XEM 2%
    XLM 2%
    YFDAI 2%
    ZIL <1%
    TFuel <1%
ETH<1% for gas fees on DEX's

My plan is to continue rotating out of leaders into laggers in order to compound gains. Up to now, half of my XRP was bought with gains from others (like BTC, ETH, Theta, ZIL, VET), about 3/4 of my ADA was bought with gains from others (like BTC ETH, and GRWG stock), and 95% of my Zcash, EOS, DASH, BCH and XEM were bought with gains from others (like ETH, LINK and ADA).
I am hoping that HBAR, ALGO, and LINK continue to out perform so I can rotate the rest of what I have in those into more Zcash, EOS, DASH, & BCH.

This is what it looks like when I overlay the BTC Feb-March-April-May fractal on to the annotated chart I posted a couple days ago. Hits the 4.236 fib extension exactly.

Yeah, theoretically. IMO, however this plays out, we are nearing the end of this bull run and I will be cashing out 90% of my crypto and not buying back in until we are 1-2 years into the bear market.

At this point, I am trying to figure out how to tell when BTC has hit its top because once it does, alts are going to go effing crazy. And once BTC does it’s .702 retrace then it’s really goodnight.

I've held most since last year. I haven't put very much new money into the market this year. I spent all of 2020 accumulating and have made some trades on major swings during this year. It's definitely been mostly flat since recovering from the summer. I am being patient and waiting until my stuff goes. Some of it did early this year like THETA, ADA, TFuel, VET, ZIL and I rotated that stuff into laggers.

I honestly don't pay much attention to FUD articles. Coindesk likes to hate on lots of alts and is very BTC and ETH centric. I mostly just focus on charts and data.

BCH, EOS, Zcash, Dash is what I plan to continue rotating into.

Stuff from my list I definitely won't be buying anymore of and my average entry prices on them:
    HBAR: $.04
    ADA: $.16
    LINK: $3.50
    XTZ: $2.50
    ZIL: $.015
    ALGO: $.40
    XLM: $.10

Also, anything else in the top 12 except XRP. It is the only one in the top 12 that hasn't set a new ATH this year.

I'm not saying these couldn't be good buys for others, but I feel like there are other better opportunities out there.

I'm not putting my average entries to act like some kind of trading badass because I'm far from it. They are there just to give mathematical reason why I choosing what I am.
