Lots of different coins out there. Use a calculator, but you can't compete with an ASIC miner with a desktop rig. Cost of power > amount returned. Sorry, nope. CPU heavy coins are okay. If you get 'free power' from somewhere... well. :p don't get caught. Mining helium is kinda neat because it's basically setting up a hotspot.

Oof. I've been doing this for long enough that I don't freak when the market tanks a bit. It just hurts that I had a 4800 sell limit on what would be 13,000+ of Ethereum. I was within like 20 right before it fell off the cliff

You don’t owe, it’s just worth less than you paid for it. If you don’t sell when it’s low, then no problem.

For mining this website is good: https://whattomine.com/

ASIC's for BTC is a tab at the top, if not plug in the GPU's you have and your electricity cost per kwh and it'll tell you profit for most coins per day. For GPU's it's almost always ETH being the most profitable but I second the statement that if buying GPU's I'd just take the money and put it into alts right now especially with the drop in value the last few days. I personally wouldn't get into ASIC mining right now.

I have a 3090 in my computer rig and a 3080 in the wife's computer that I mine with both on liquid cooling setups to keep noise down which right now with the current eth difficulty combined gives me profit of ~$13-15/day or $390-$450/month but my electricity cost is very low. While it does make money, the $2500 I spent on graphics cards (got a 3090 @ $1500 MSRP in January before the price bumps) would've been better spent throwing it into alts back then but I was new to crypto.

I use t-rex miner on the ethhash pool. You can go with hiveOS for dedicated mining rigs but it's pretty confusing even for me to setup. I do it because why not, but I was buying new hardware for new computers anyway. Mining is like bonus income to pay off the computers.

The entire market cap seems to be v-bottoming out and the crypto fear and greed index is at a 34 (fear range). These are typically signs that the bottom is in and it's a matter of working it self back up. IMO, I am feeling more like this is playing out like the distribution pattern we saw in the spring where BTC will have one more big move up, alts will follow and pullback after BTC tops. Alts will then surge into the BTC's retracement.
This is the main potential sequence I see playing out, but I will definitely be watching closely if something deviates from this.

    1. Total Alt Market Cap
    2. BTC/USD with spring's three month triple top Wycoff Distribution pattern overlaid.

You could potentially be in the hole with leverage trading since you're borrowing money/crypto to trade with.

You can't go negative then. You either profit or lose.

    HODL FTW

IF, (theoretically) 69k was the top of BTC, then 65k will be the price level to really watch as that is the .702 fib retracement of the 69k top and the recent 55.6k bottom.

I am not saying it was the top, but it is something to keep an eye on.

I'm heavy into Jasmy lately but it's dropping from my buy in so I'm just in HODL mode.
