Cool video I watched on YT today about some possible scenarios. About 30 minutes long and very informative.
    Summary of possibilities:
    1. BTC low is in and it retraces up to .702 and alts rip.
    2. Btc still has a lower low to set in the 30’s then it retraces and alts rip.
    3. Btc does not retrace and instead drops to mid 20’s, then goes parabolic after months of consolidation. Sets a new high of 95k and takes alts ripping with it.

End of SEC Lawsuit or Settlement coming soon, and allegedly greatly undervalued at it's current price... Crypto Youtube been on fire about it the past week.

    My story of crypto..
-Friend says he is doing it.
    -Maybe I should do it.
    -Get coinbase.
    -Learn a few things.
-Get some credits on some obscure digital coins.
-Buy a little BTC, ETH, LTC.
    -Add like $50
    -Watch
    -Lose
    -Gain a little
    -Lose
    -Watch
-Haven't opened app in 3 months.
    -Open app
    -Same amount of money

I know I know.... you cant gain more if you don't invest more.
I guess I just lost excitment in the first few months and now im kinda like .... meh.

I’ve been following the lawsuit fairly close since the beginning. People have been calling for a settlement since February.

They are closing in on the end of the discovery phase of the trial. Monday was a big deadline for a few things so some people are saying that it’s going to lead to a settlement.

In reality we probably won’t see an ending for a while still. Lawyers from both sides are fighting over every detail. IMO It’ll probably come down to what the judge decides to require the SEC to provide to ripple regarding their inter office paperwork on their views of XRP vs ETH security status.

So what exactly is the problem with XRP, in SEC's eyes? Googlefu says they "breaching securities law by selling XRP tokens", but isn't that what every crypto org does, how are they different?

They are claiming that all sales of XRP since 2013 are securities. Even 3rd party sales on exchanges. So if I sold XRP in 2017, then I sold a security according to them.
The problem with this is that Ripple has met with the SEC several times leading up to this asking for clarity and guidance and they said nothing.
The SEC allowed Coinbase to list XRP at the start of 2019 with no objections. This is when Coinbase only had like 4 or 5 cryptos listed.
XRP and the XRPL existed before the company Ripple. They did not create XRP to sell in order to fund their protocol build out the way Ethereum did.

There is a lot of dot connecting being done showing that the founders of Ethereum (Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Lubin) have close ties with ex-head SEC officials, William Hinman and Jay Clayton. Both of whom worked in the private sector before government with companies directly invested in BTC and ETH. They were also getting paid by this companies while working at the SEC and making these decisions. Now that they have both left the SEC, they have gone back to those companies and are advising them on BTC and ETH investing after giving informal clarity to both in 2018.

There seems to be a lot more to this than what is on the surface.

I understand that sentiment, I'm still very wary that it isn't nerdy beanie babies, so I'm not exactly sure about really embracing it as a secure financial vehicle that other people have done. I only put in a little bit to coinbase, like $100 or so, did all the earn money videos/quizes to make another $30 or so, and my account has basically doubled (I bought in Feb of this past year). Just today though, I decided... let's just make a recurring deposit of $25 for BTC and see what happens. I can spare that $25 a month and not feel it being gone, I'll then reassess after a year.

I track stuff with a spreadsheet because coinbase is terrible about gains/loses, and I am holding a bunch of different stuff. I do have some plans to consolidate from the dozen or so cryptos down to 3 or 4.

Is there another app that you have considered?
I haven't looked around enough to jump ship from Coinbase Pro, or even if I can at this point without losing any investments...

I have so little invested that I'm ok with coinbase for now (although after setting up my $25 a month BTC recurring buy... it'll take about $1.50 or so in fees each month. That has me wondering about alternatives a little bit more). a coworker that is much more heavily invested (commas in his numbers) suggested Exodus.

Exodus is cool for storing and staking. Fees are high for trading. What I do it I use simpleswap.io to trade one crypto for another or even into and out of USDC. And just have it sent to and from my exodus wallet.
