Are there anyone in the SoCal area that has an extra shroud that I can borrow for mocking up an electric fan to it? I'll give it back when done..and maybe some beer as well for the troubles...

I ordered the Mishimoto one and will be here Friday probably won’t get it installed for a couple of weeks due to my shoulder surgery. Quality looks to be exactly the same but it comes with a lifetime warranty!

    I have the taco shroud...

What I see is the gap is wider at the top, less near the bottom. Im thinking, if these little Pito's that protude further out from the radiator are reduced in length, that will enable the shroud to be closer probably right around to what a complete stock setup is. Is worth it to reduce that length, or just add some material in between the shroud and radiator? I havnt decided which way I'll handle that when I do the final install of the E-Fan..

Didn't some people use some adhesive rubber molding to fill that gap?

Please post a picture and some measurements of that foam strip? If you have any details to use when trying to find some similar in the aftermarket... I'm curious what Mishimoto uses, but have the CSF for Tacoma, which also spaces the shroud away from radiator and makes a gap...

Here ya go. They are approximately 22” long.

There is a gap with the csf , I just used 1/2 inch thick door weatherstripping (O’reilys auto parts)& that closed it off .

I plan to try to modify the shroud and the mounting bosses for it, haven't done a mock up yet to see what would need to be done to get them to fit closer together. But, will probably need/want to use a seal if I can anyway, even small gaps can lead to large losses in fan efficiency and flow through the radiator. Good to know that Mishimoto uses a solid core foam-rubber seal, not a bulb type seal.

I feel conflicted, when CSF made the double row, they missed on the alignment of the shroud. Maybe I missed pics of AFE installed? And mishimoto, they know about the gap and provide seals? Why not make the fit correct in the first place!!?? Is there something I'm missing, or why are the bosses too tall and alignment of the shrouds not correct, or corrected on subsequent production runs at this stage in the game? Is there something fundamental, that you can't cut down, shave off, etc? I'll find out soon, have a spare shroud that I need to fit to the CSF. Maybe then I will understand and could convey why the fit cannot be adjusted, and a thick gasket needs to be used instead.
