Quick question yall - are you guys running the 19lb radiator caps that come with these or replacing the caps with a factory spec one?

Yeah I found that out yesterday. No problem with the higher psi cap so far?

I considered shortening it but it would be an expensive mess up if it did not work out. it prob only needs 1/8-1/4" max

The higher pressure cap is only going to come into play in an overheating event, the higher pressure one will hold longer before venting. Keep in mind an all aluminum radiator is also stronger than OEM with crimped plastic sides. I didn’t have any issues in the years running it.

What is everyone ordering for OE plastic replacement, 6-speed manual?

CSF site shows '3200' for "V6 Tacoma" with no mention of auto vs manual
obviously auto radiators reduce the cooling capacity by using space for ATF that on a manual would simply be empty

The cap is supposed to vent to protect the rest of the system not just the radiator as well as get you to effing stop and let it cool since it’s overheating. A higher pressure cap isn’t such a great idea viewed in that context.

    pressure changes at altitude
I’ve never seen a cooling system get to the point of venting through the cap

I know this is at least originally a CSF thread, but there's no Mishi thread for 2nd gens - has anyone confirmed fitment of the Mishi radiator with the FJ shroud? It LOOKS like the Mishis are built to the same dimensions as the (older?) CSFs, but I'd like to know for sure before dropping the coin on an FJ shroud when I buy the Mishi.

2nd gen and 3rd gen Mishimoto Radiators are the exact same Radiator with the exception of included adapters for the 3rd gen for proper fitment...just like how all the other aftermarket all aluminum radiators are for the 3rd gen..

Edit - Chris @ CSF confirms #7092 is drop-in fit for 05+ Tacomas specifically and does not require shroud modification/filler strips.

I understand that. I would rather not use the adapter (which is actually just a piece of adhesive back weatherstripping, is it not?), and instead use the FJ shroud along with an aftermarket overflow.

My overflow probably needs to replaced soon anyway, and it's a great opportunity to slap unnecessary shiny aluminum bling under the good. The FJ shroud comes unpopulated, and an aluminum overflow resi is not too expensive.

The adapters are for the (4) mounting rubber isolators .. there are 2 different OD's of the rubber isolaters between the 2nd gen and the 3rd gen..3rd gen requires the adapters. Otherwise, the radiators are exactly the same in deminsions.

The adhesive strip to fill in the gap is not referred to as any "adapter"
