Fan is removable from the OE shroud. I tried it because I liked the nice flange. Looks like this when removed.

I'm not sure if I missed it - did anyone get a radiator since the initial batch was sold? I missed that opportunity, but want a radiator. I've been following as good as I can hoping to learn that some place has them again - and I will go to them and order. I thought I heard the next batch was June, then July, then August. Then Sept 30 or something like that. Are these things really delayed that indefinitely? Seems like there is interest based on the numbers that sold through URD on the first round.

What is the best way to get a radiator, and does anyone really have a handle on what is the delay caused by and when will CSF be getting past it?

Pulling the hill up to my house at 8900 ft the other day, saw 198 degrees on my new Scanguage II in the 2014 DCLB A/T, doing 60mph unloaded with ambient temps in the 70's. Our trucks get hot!! I want to fix that.

 

All I know is they keep getting pushed back. I was one of the fortunate ones that got one before they went out of stock from URD. I’d try calling CSF to get an exact timeframe. I’d been eying there for a while before it was posted in this thread. The expected dates continually get bumped back, just like everywhere else.

 

Ah, gotcha......has anyone tried eBay searching the part number? Maybe there is a vendor there is no one is aware of that sells them

 

I am a google shopping Pro. Seriously. I found them from a few different vendors, mainly sites specific for the FJ. All of them had the same story. I was excited for the one mentioned above as it stated the radiators were less than a week out, but I decided to hold off till they had them in stock. Then the date got bumped, and bumped again, then again...

 

Lol, I’m sorry man. I’m sure at some point someones gotta get a batch of these back in.

 

I think they are made in China so whenever CSF gets their big shipment in (I have no idea how many) they will be distributed to all the different vendors. So the holdup is either in China's manufacturing, the slow boat, or customs.

must likely logistics issues .. Couple of my friends are having problems getting their containers on a ship in china.

 

Just got off the phone with my vendor. End of November is the new timeline. They are having problems getting them produced. So hopefully we can have them for next summer.

They didn't. Just that they were having production delays. It could be anything. Like they are just making a different part number that they have more on backorder of? Who knows?

That really sucks... I had to cancel my order. can't start the winter season with a heater core bypassed while waiting for a new radiator.

 

Why would you have to bypass your heater core? You dont mess with it for a radiator change except for coolant draining.

 

I just got done changing out all my A/C parts. I decided to take the opportunity to change out the heater core (cheap insurance) while I had to change out the evaporator core. Ripping out the HVAC unit is not something I wanted to do again - anytime soon.

I bypassed the new heater core since the new radiator was going in. I did not want to contaminate the new core with old fluid or use new Toyota coolant to top-off. Bypassing was the easiest and cheapest route.

At this point, I will just flush and drain the rest of the system. I'll hook the heater core back up as I change out all the hoses and fill it up with new coolant.
