I went with the Rockauto shroud and tank, zero complaints.

Just do the fluid check procedure after. Much better than relying on someone’s statement you may have had their transmission over- or underfilled

Thanks! But shoulda said I was gonna do that anyway. Just curious on a ballpark figure (1L?) to get it close before having to pull the fill plug and monkey under the truck anymore than necessary.

It’ll depend on if your truck was properly filled from the get go. I would just add a 1 L of something WS compatible and then do a level check.

I removed a gen 2 transmission cooler from the inside of a stock radiator. I agree 1-2 ounces of fluid at most.

The new cooler is larger than the OEM one.

@Torspd: Do you think filling the new cooler, plugging it till it's plumbed then adding a couple extra ounces will get me close enough to check tranny level?

That's what we did. Attached the bottom line, then filled the cooler and attached the top line.

Making sure to minimize losses during removal of the OEM radiator.

Finally installing it since I was on the first list and it's sat in storage for a bit.. Pulled the factory radiator shroud and fan so just going to drain it and swap it out tomorrow along with new hoses. Sealed the new FJ shroud to the radiator using oem shroud and parts. Wondering if I should install my 160 T-stat since I am NA but I do live in the far South and tend to use this truck in the desert? Any way few pics glad I went with the FJ set up since it's bigger just makes sense if you are going to swap it for better performance...

Bottom of the radiator used gasket sealer since the gap was small, sides and top used the rubber bulb sealer to seal it off.

Got her installed today super easy! I do need to modify my transmission lines since they are routed different due to my front bumper also need to fab up some type of side guards as well since the corners of the radiator are being exposed more because it sits lower. But looking forward to a cool running truck the factory radiator looks really sad compared to the CSF.

I finally got around to installing my CSF radiator today so @Roostfactor can add me to the list!

I ended up going with a Parts Geek FJ shroud and overflow reservoir as I've had pretty good luck with their plastic Toyota knock-off parts in the past. They shipped fast, looked good and fit perfectly (while saving a bunch of $$). While I was there, I installed some used billet pulleys I got on Ebay this winter and a new belt. I'm definitely a slave to OEM Toyota parts when it comes to powertrain, so I spent a little more on a Toyota belt and a new crank pulley bolt. I had HPS silicon hoses on order, but finally gave up as they're on national backorder. They'll have to wait till next time.

Didn't have time in the day to test run, but am looking forward to a cool drive down to New Mexico tomorrow.

On their page, they claim the pulleys are underdrive pulleys. The working theory behind underdrive pulleys is they are a different diameter than the stock pulleys and provide more mechanical advantage in turning whatever accessory they are attached to, thereby freeing up power. The downside is that those accessories are then spinning slower. So just keep an eye on things. Like if one of the pulleys you installed was the waterpump pulley, keep an eye on your water temps, something you would be doing anyway with the radiator install, I'm sure.
