Blew the wad on mods this month but I want a fridge. This will be happening soon.

 

Not sure what you're asking exactly, but the fridge will not fit under a tonneau cover in the back of the truck. The fridge is a little over 21" tall with the cover on and a slide will add about 1\2" of height to that.

What temperature are you guys setting yours for?

I've been playing with mine tonight, and with the display set at 30, I have a thermometer on top of some silver bullets that reads 34 degrees.

Also, what is the expected temperature in the smaller (food) section?

 

I usually set mine for 36. The other area will be the same temp but will not ruin any fruits or veggies from contact frost or condensation.

 

Testing the internal temp again this morning showed the display was accurate.
I will leave it at 33 during my pre-chill session, and as soon as I move it to the truck, it'll be at 36.

 

The upper area doesn't get as cold. I ran mine at freezing for the first part of a trip and kept items that I didn't want frozen in the smaller section and it was perfect.

 

Anybody running this off a factory Toyota battery? Off the top of my head I can't see why it wouldn't work. If not it would at least work temporary for a couple trips I have planned throughout the year correct? I can't see any situation where the truck would be off longer than 12 hours.

 

I've been running mine now for quite a while. I've driven about 5k miles with it hooked up, camping and wheeling. I'm running off a 12V Blue Sea outlet and i keep the temp around 38. I've noticed food is best kept in the upper section, drinks in the basket. I'll put extra food over the drinks in the basket.

Only issues I've come across is the bed slide doesn't lock fully out anymore, but it could be the rails having shifted with all the off-roading I've been doing and the cover isn't a perfect fit.

My fridge has been exposed to temperatures below 40 degrees, temperatures in excess of 110, altitudes over 13,000 feet and many torrential downpours with two hail storms. It has functioned flawlessly and continues to.

TL/DR: Having an on-board fridge is game changing and this one is an excellent deal.

What’s the overall height from bed floor to top of fridge cover with slide, fridge & cover? I’m concerned about fitting under a tonneau cover. Thnx

 

Slightly above the top of the bed. It won't fit under a tonneau cover
