    The fridge worked awesome on a family camping trip we had for a week. Luckily we had power at the camp but while driving around towns the fridge ran off my battery. We took a small rtic to hold drinks since we had the fridge stuffed with meat, milk, eggs, etc.

    Thank you very much for doing that. I've heard that the 3rd gen tacomas have the sidewalls a little higher than the 2nd gen; it seems like its true. Unfortunately though, i cannot make the fridge and slide work.

    But i'll just have the fridge in place for the time being. Thanks.

    So i'm having an issue where the fridge will trigger the low voltage error code on compressor start up.
    It states the voltage is less than 9V (lowest safety setting), but the actual battery voltage is closer to 11.5 or so.

    When the battery has a charge greater than 11.5 the fridge works just fine.
    Has anyone thought to use a capacitor, similar to the ones used in large audio systems, to fix this issue?

    I'm having a similar problem I'm trying to bandaid.

    No offense Mike, but having to buy the external battery pack to get this to work in the bed is not a fix. Some of us need it to run indefinitely, so an external battery pack is not a workable solution for those in that situation.

    I think he meant it would work as a ballast to stabilize the voltage similar to the capacitor the previous poster was asking about. Not that you should just run it off the battery instead of the truck.

    Ah, okay. Yeah, I agree that that's still not a good solution. If that's the fix, then it needs to be included with the fridge as standard.

    Yea I don't do too much electrical stuff outside the standard basic hooking up of accessories.
    I think I might have a capacitor lying around from my stupid subwoofer days though.. probably try it out

    10 Gauge.
    Doing a test in my garage only using a few feet of wire, so I know it's not voltage drop across the wire.
    Measured the voltage at the connection point to the cigarette adapter of the CSI fridge at 11.5 volts and was still tripping the low voltage warning

    14 gauge and I'm getting within 0.2v of battery voltage at my 12v outlet. I am getting a 2v drop (inconsistently) with just the 12v connector.
