Mine is also a piece of junk. Mike is helping me with it, though.

Thanks to all who have sent me videos. This really helps with resolving issues with CSI and getting them to make changes. The shipping companies have really been beating up these 55's and have been terrible about processing damage claims. CSI is not on this forum so the videos convey the voltage and failure issues we are experiencing. The W59 battery pack is getting a tune up to make the 55 move viable for solar or dedicated 12v or lower usage to prevent error codes. I appreciate all the support and always strive to stand behind every sale. Whether that be fridges, tents, suspension, gears, and all other things Toyota.

Any update on the voltage reading situation from CSI? Or are they still working through that issue?

They are still working on it. Sounds like a replacement board situation. We had something similar on the 52's. I was hoping they could do an update through the app.

Aren't you supposed to let it sit for a while after shipment to allow the lubricants and refrigerants to settle back in the compressor prior to the first use?

It sat for several hours before I even mounted it in the truck. Which then, after nearly all day, I plugged it in. Doesn't seem like its due to it being shipped :notsure:

Mike is getting it right! Great customer service and CSI seems like they make improvements based on our reviews and suggestions.

The 64 quart is pretty good. Not too many issues with it.

The 84 quart has many problems, so I would wait a while before ordering that one.

You have been solid and really appreciate that. I’m catching up but any big issues with the new 53? I did notice I have to alway set it to the lower voltage cut off or it always picked up on the medium setting. With 200 watts of solar and a dual battery with redarc it’s never an issue but would still hit the medium cut off.

The 53's have been great overall. I think we have had one warped lid and one dead display in the 50+ units we have sold.

Great, good to hear. So far it has been solid. Is there any feedback on the voltage or cut offs. Seems like it picks up or cuts off at different points. Only fix has been to set it at the lowest point 9.xx volts which the truck doesn't really get to but was hitting the middle one offten.

I have the original 52 and it has fits from time to time. Works flawless then for a week or so it'll throw and error code -- which I just unplug and plug back into fix. Luckily it just holds drinks and some snacks that aren't temperature sensitive for most of the time. I have 8awg all the way back and using a Blue Sea locking outlet and plug on a X2 24F in my T4R with a voltage booster. So it works 99.2% of the time.

I used a cheap Amazon wireless thermometer to keep track of its internal temp.

I will say the 52qt held in excess of 40lbs of meat and other foods perfectly during my trip to Ouray in July. Super convenient with not having to worry about ice or digging my hands into the freezing water when digging for something.

what amp fuse are people using on the older 52 qt CSI? I know it has that 15 amp fuse built into the back, but I ran a long length of 10 ga. from a Blue Sea fuse block to a marine 12v socket in my bed. I am using a 30 amp now.

man that wireless thermo. is genius. I should have thought of that especially since I have one that I use for my smoker....I remember looking at the gucci ARB fridges that had the remote with temp and thinking it was an awesome feature.

Beginning my stress test of the 84Qt W55 as well as my aux battery system this weekend. What I've noticed so far... The fridge has been cooling without much flaw at all other than the temperatures not being anywhere close to accurate. Yesterday, the fridge must have hit the lower voltage limit and shut off with an F1 error. Upon unplugging the fridge from my 12v system and replugging it in, the compressor kicked on (it was 75deg inside the fridge) and immediately indicated low voltage and shut off. The battery voltage dropped, as expected to about 8v and the fridge reset itself. I plugged the fridge into AC power until it cooled, then back to DC. Ever since its been back on 12v, its been fine. I'll let it run throughout the night on "max" to see what happens. My battery is a "maintenance free" flooded Centennial Gp24 w- 75AH. Thats the cheapest part of the system, as it is powered by a 100w panel and renogy DCDC W- Solar charging with only LED lights added to the system. If any of you guys have feedback, let me know. I believe this is going to be the ongoing issue of the fridge reporting / reading voltage lower than what it actually is.

Over the next few days, I'll be adding additional accessories that will add a bit of stress to my battery system, to make sure that there aren't any weaknesses with that.

    Cheers!
