Looking for some thoughts on those colors i.e. ease of keeping clean, overall opinions, etc. We are looking at a CSM today or tomorrow and an MGM next week (both very similarly equipped).

    Thanks all.

I have mgm tacoma and similar color highlander. Mgm hides imperfections well, but is definitely more difficult to keep clean. I miss my old silver truck from that aspect.
One thing that bothered me about silver is all of the tiny surface rust stains that accumulate and need removed with clay bar or polish. I'm sure they are there on every car, but visible on the light colors.

I've had both. Silver is better.

    I’ve owned both colors.

The truck has great lines that are enhanced by silver. I was reluctant to trade out of mgm at first, but after a while liked silver better. See the shadows below…

Thank you for the comments all. I've recently been paying a bit more attention to the colors on Tacomas on the road near me. It is overwhelmingly MGM. Although CSM isn't a 'flashy' color, it would stick out a bit more than MGM (in this area) which is a good thing. @DTaCo - thanks for mentioning the rust stains. I had not heard of that before.

I was on the fence a few years ago, almost did something different and had a deposit down on the same taco in black, but then came to my senses. I LOVE the way black looks clean, but I live in the PNW so nope. Once I saw the CSM up close, I was sold and changed my selection. It just looks better longer. And I agree with the other posters That silver really accentuates the cool body lines on these 3rd gens. If you go with a more subdued color, those lines blend in a bit more.

I wanted black, but settled for mgm. I've never cared for silver. :anonymous:

Silver hides imperfections so well. Definitely not eye catching, at all! But it's classic

I love the way the mgm looks but it shows dirt and dust worse than black or white.
From what I’ve seen locally the cement hides dirt and dust the best and wish I got that instead.

I’ve had both. Hate them both. Inferno Orange all the way ;)

Of the two, I think the MGM is more flexible and looks better to my eye. For example, I went from MGM to CSM and had to sell off my bronze wheels that were in the MGM because I just couldn’t get with them on the CSM.

I’ve had plenty of silver cars over the years (and a CSM currently) and I’ve never had any rust stains not sure what that is about

IMG_5091.jpg 2005 CSM DCLB Sport to the same truck in MGM (2022). MGM looks better but shows every water spot and road spray. 2005 always looked good from 10 feet away bc I kept a nice wax coat on her. I’d have bought a CSM if it were available at the time.IMG_5864.jpg

Look closely at your lower doors and tailgate. Iron dust oxidizes and leaves tiny orange dots everywhere. Maybe I'm just OCD...

I currently have three silver cars and I just closely inspected all of them and I don’t see a single spot of what you are talking about. And I have a serious car OCD issue. ‘87 911, ‘10 328, ‘23 Tacoma. Maybe it’s the water where you live? Anyone else have this issue with silver?

CSM all the way, shows the body lines as others have posted and looks clean from ten feet when it’s not. But I will say it’s just a matter of preference you buy what you like.

Could be location. I live in the rust belt. Maybe the road salt oxidizes the iron particles. Definitely a thing here.

Not my vehicle, but these are the spots I was referring to on silver and white.

My 2023 CSM Tacoma has 19,000 miles and parked outside and the paint is spot on perfect!
