ct. wheelin places?

im wondering if anyone knows of some land or trails to spend a couple hours on and have some fun in ct? i just moved here an havnt found anything....some friends of mine have farms back in upstate ny and i miss having a place to go and have some fun

 

No where? Come on someones gotta know a farm or powerlnes that arent illegal to go an crawl around on? Im more then willing to help with maintnence or some labor work

 

i have lived in CT for 29 years (my whole life) and do not know of any legal places to wheel, and i think ATV use is illegal other than your won private property

Man I have done some looking and am unable to locate any place to wheel there. In my signature there is a list of parks around the USA.

 

Powerlines and Private land. thats all there is man...it sucks.

The laws arent really enforced over at the Bozrah Powerlines...I was actually told by a few troopers I should go and check it out, I was also told not to go unless ya had lift+Tires as its pretty rough.

 

id like to chk them out if theres anyone that has been on them an wants to go again

nothing really super cool, just a few places that people dont yell at you

join a club if you want great wheeling places, they all ride private land

 

When I used to live in Danbury we would wheel in the area of the duracell plant out back, or off of Vail Rd. both kind of the same area just different access points.

 

really thats not far from me...is it private land or is it wheel at ur own risks type of thing?

 

I don't know who owns it but they used to dirt bike there as well, most of it is far enough away from anyone so no one bothers you. There used to be a field area that now might have some buildings on it, but it might not hurt to take a look.

There is Nepaug state forest (New Hartford Torrington area) There are designated tails marked that are legal to drive through, mostly dirt roads but there are some technical areas. there's also power line trails there.

 

would you wanna meet up one day? i dont know the area really but torrington is about 45min north of me..i like it up there..have you taken those trails ur talking about?

 

last time I went up there was in my 91 pickup about 2 years ago, found some pretty good trails that were tough even for 8 inch lift and 33's. never been up there with the new truck, we always talk about goin up there but never got around to it because we end up wheelin at closer places they are somewhat less legal.

definatly down to meet up on a weekend granted I get the time, can also go fishing ( farmngton river runs in the area) maybe we can get some other local TW members to come out as well....

Im coming down to CT for two days this week, gonna hit trails really quick on wednesday. Ill post pics of the trails off Pleasure Hill Rd and the Mushroom farm in Franklin!
