The center cup holder divider was knocked out when my truck was being serviced and was left uninstalled. I noticed a snapped off piece of plastic and the tech agreed that he might have broken the part so they ordered me a replacement. Lo and behold, the replacement has the same defect.

Had they not knocked the part out I would have never noticed! Anyone else have this same defect? I’m sure with how many of this part they’re churning out there’s bound to be a ton of them out there.

Just a little interesting tid bit if you’re a mildly OCD freak like me. It’s completely hidden when installed and has no effect on function, but I know it’s there and now you do too!

If anyone actually cares the part is:

1st and foremost. How can you call it a defect if you don’t know if it was designed like that?

It looks like a sprue was clipped off there. It's probably slightly recessed so that it still sits flush if it isn't trimmed perfectly.

Just went out and checked mine... it looks exactly like the ones shown above. I’ve taken that piece off dozens of times and never noticed that o_O

You’re probably right that it’s a byproduct of how they make the part and not necessarily a true defect. Just thought it was mildly interesting.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Whoever is making these for Toyota is saving $0.0005 worth of injection molded plastic per piece. Crazy find.
