Understand the purpose of guns, well for most people. Again, even if I was in a war zone, I don’t understand the need to have a gun in my cup holder. Seems showy to me.

I would carry it in a chest rig so it’s already pointing out the drivers side window. Economy of motion duh!

Mind boggling to me that people think they can draw a firearm in their truck .

The worst thing Yeti could have done:
    https://talkbusiness.net/2018/01/yeti-sues-wal-mart-for-copyright-infringement-on-tumbler-knockoffs/

They made it public: Our 50$ cups can make a profit at 10$

What they could have done: PR campaign that they're only cheap knockoffs that don't perform the same. Instead, they made it a public shit storm of....they're the same thing, for 20% of the cost.

I have 2 of each the 20oz and 30oz Walmart knockoffs, stainless steel no paint. One set at work and one at home. I can't remember the order, I bought one for each (home and work) and then wanted the bigger or smaller size and it was 20 bucks, so I just kept each. The small ones are annoying to clean because of my ham hock hands. I like the big one because it's easy to get in there and clean.

The handles and covers are interchangeable, too. I can use any of the yeti stuff :p Handles, lids, lids with straws, etc.

I have had ice stay in one of those for a few days, if the yetis are as good as the extra cost is, then I might be afraid stuff gets too cold.

I can’t fit a medium drink from jack in the box in any cup holder.
On a side note, my access cab has 9 cup/beverage holder but only seats two.

For what it's worth, it's illegal in Texas. If you are carrying a pistol in your vehicle under the travelling law it must be not visible. If you are carrying as a LTC holder, it must be either not visible, or in a shoulder or belt holster. Either way, no visible pistol mounting anywhere in the vehicle.

I had it there, but I'm licensed to carry and "legally" if it's not concealed I'm supposed to have it holstered. The holster doesn't fit, so this is the best option for me. It's not comfortable to keep it on my body while I'm driving.

It can be visible now, as long as it's holstered. That's why I bought the holster.

I would have no problem drawing a firearm in my truck, if the situation called for it. However, the mount is more for a place to put the gun while I'm driving. I'm licensed to carry, but the mount is more about the fact that it's not comfortable to drive with the gun on my person. However, it's not smart to lock it up in my glovebox where I can't reach it while I'm driving, either. You never know when I'll run into a mob of angry people sludging up the highways wanting to beat the living hell out of my truck and/or me....I refuse to be the victim of one of those mobs. In Texas, we have a law called stand your ground. We have the right to protect ourselves and our property with necessary force.

Not showy, just practical, since I'm 5'2" and I don't have a lot of options.

Believe it or not, even with the Dara holster retention, the Ram mount holds very well. However, I can tell that over time, it will loosen up if I don't put something in there to cover that gap. I like your idea regarding the PVC. I'll have to see what I can find...maybe a coupling would fit? Thanks for your input!

For those who still need a larger cup holder check out this mod. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tool-less-32oz-cupholder-mod.672736/ I can confirm it will hold a nalgene, hydro flask, 40oz, or probably half dozen hand grenades if you really need to show someone who's boss.
