What is the main reason for cupping? I recently had my Stage 4 ICON setup rebuilt by manufacture. After a month or so I noticed leaking a weird bolt coming out from the bottom of the shock body. Requested them inspect and let me know what the issue is. Well turns out they switched out shafts and bearing. I paid 675 for all four to be completely rebuilt. My question is weather the shocks are the cause of the cuping? Because my Cooper st max are not cheap and need to replaced according to my tire shop, months ago.

Could be from worn out suspension components, that doesnt just mean the coilovers. bad ball joints can cause cupping, wheel bearing, tierods, poor alignment.

Too much tire pressure typically causes this

No issue with ball joints, we'll bearing replaced last year, no issue with tie rods and have life time alignment at Firestone done every few months. Thanks for response

It only happened to front tires, same tire pressure all around.

Because people like to stack cups? :notsure:

But seriously, worn shocks with poorly balanced wheels will do it.
