Had a Tacoma a long time ago now back to the taco and I upgraded to TRD OR from a manual 4cyl SR5.
I don't often post on forms and can find but usually find and answer. Decided to join when curiosity got me.
I was looking at the Aluminum Running boards and saw what appears to be some bolt holes and have no idea what they are for.
Thanks for all the help I'm inevitably going to need

Welcome to TW! What holes are you referring to? They do bolt to the frame.

Thank you for not suggesting they are for bolting to frame in a condescending way hahaha. They could be but looks.mote.like you can bolt something to them.

    none yet
there are steps that bolt to bottom of the cab ($200-$500) then there are sliders the bolt or weld to the frame ($600~700+)
I believe all OEM options are bolt to the cab

    and welcome

also if you live in a salt the roads state get a wax or oil based undercoating before the salt hits the road, stay away from rubber or tar coatings

That's a horrible idea. What time?
As Craig said, those are for the OEM steps or running boards. You won't want those if you plan to off road at all. I saw a "Predator" style step get ripped off and break the tube.
