Like it says, who out there is an Eagle Scout and if so when did you get it? Grew up doing scouting since I was little, and, although growing up friends thought it was "dorky," "uncool," etc., it has definitely influenced my life. It introduced me to the great outdoors (growing up in the suburbs of LA) which I fell in love with and I'm now going to graduate with a degree in Natural Resource Conservation. As well, being an Eagle helped me get my first few jobs. I'm very proud of it.

So who else on TW is an Eagle? Or just participated in scouting? Any good stories?

Wow I attended Philmont in 1999 as well ( Asst. Scoutmaster) with my oldest son.
One of the best times I ever had with all the training to prepare and the great facility it was when we went.
I was a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow also as a youth.
I met at that time the onll living namesake Wippila Wiki of our local order at an award ceremony.
Spent way more years as an adult scouter with my 2 kids than I did as a youngin.
Lot's of stuff I think kids need to learn they will never be taught in "school"

Very nice guys! Ya I got my Eagle october 5th, 2006. Worked for scout camps for 4 years at two different camps. Never made it to Philmont, but I worked at a camp called Log Cabin which was right on the border of Yosemite overlooking Mono Lake that did backpacking into the park.
Some of the best parts of my child/kid hood were in scouts, and some of the best lessons I've learned too.
