    Plenty of breaking news and important current events going on nationally and wordwide. Maybe a place where those topics can be easily reached?Possibly have a ticker across the top with user selected topics?

    I don't think so.

    For example, there was a shooting today at the university of texas at austin. No reason for it to be locked.
