I think the problem is anyone trying to justify paying $650 for essentially tweeter mounts. It’s a ridiculous amount of money that could be used for much more functional mods. We have off-road capable trucks not Maybachs.

I’m sure someone one here would be willing to pay up, but you can count myself and apparently a whole lot of others out. By the way, what he is doing for tweeter mounts is not rocket science by any means. I have spent time doing tweeter mounts in multiple vehicles and it’s not as difficult as spending $650 for someone else to do.

I would be more concerned with the fact that he has no clue our pillars no longer have Oh shit handles before paying him $650. Lol!

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
No it’s not rocket science. And a lot of people are capable of making them. But a lot of them are not. And just because it’s not rocket science does not mean it’s easy. You need tools to make them the right way and i have invested in these tools. Not to mention being able to wrap them in vynl without any creases showing. And yes there are more”functional” mods out there but for many people music is important and having it sound good is important. I do about 4-5 custom pillars a month at my job and we charge way more and you’d be surprised how many of them are bad ass off road rigs and not maybachs!

I don't think the price is unreasonable for a hand made part like this. The question I have in my head is why not have them mass produced? Quality will go up, time will go down, and potential market will be much larger in comparison. Look at the TRD pro grills as an example, you can get them for like $100 now.

I wouldn't mind seeing a an actual set of sail panels with the tweeter mounts built into them, angled towards the occupants

I kept looking for aftermarket custom even spoke with MannyTheAudioGuy at his shop and his work so far seems like the best out there.
Plan is he will build me a subwoofer box for the tw3 10 inch soon but since
I’m just an old fart who finds fun in this type of stuff and am attempting to create my own sail panels for the tweeters only!
Still have lot of work left on them but let me know what you all think so far

Custom work costs a lot of money. And while some people would rather buy a 3d printed generic version for less OP obviously enjoys doing this kind of custom work. There’s a ton of pride in this type of work. If he enjoys it, and people are willing to buy them, who gives a shit if it would be cheaper to 3D print them. Some people aren’t in it for the money. I have a few products from the vendor that posted here. Great items. I waited longer to get those 3D printed items than I probably would have for a set of these pillers and they look just like everyone else’s. It’s kind of like the Teton Workshop shift knob. You can buy a much cheaper knob, but until you’ve fondled the Teton Knob personally you wouldn’t understand why someone would pay $130 for it lol.

Call me crazy, but modifying the parts go in front of an airbag never sat well with me.
