I'm interested in a ball mount version with mic holder... Does the current version accommodate the battery eliminator?

I was actually debating which radio to buy and this radio was on the list... This mount made the decision for me

I finally had sometime to develop a more universal

UV-5R Ram Ball mount revision.
This version will fit all generations of the UV-5R with the OEM Speaker-Mic, and either the OEM 1800mah battery and OEM extended 3800mah battery. I'm still working on a design that will accommodate the UV-5R with the 2100mah battery.

Is it possible to get the mount without the mic mount on the side?

These are sick mounts! I'd be interested in a cell phone one with the ram ball threads, but I have a very uncommon phone (Sony Xperia 5) with a case. What would be the process for getting you the dimensions, and what kind of price would I be looking at?

I like the idea and execution of this mount, I’m just having a hard time pulling the trigger on an accessory that cost more than the radio!

 

That's the "problem" with the radio being so inexpensive. I've just as much money in accessories (tri-band antenna, BNC adapters, home made dipole antennas, external mic, battery eliminator, extended battery, programming cable) for the

UV-5x3 than the radio itself.

I made a mount for this radio/mic and have yet to try it out. If It doesn't work well (the cuts were too large and I have a feeling the radio is going to wobble while offroad), I'm definitely coming back and getting one of these.
