I’ll have to try that. Yes when it was on the truck I used TIG to tack and when it was all tacked I pulled it off and just pull triggered it.

It's a nice build man. I'm now looking at those JD Squared benders you mentioned. which one did you use?

I use the model 3 with a Swag Off road bracket to hold a Harbor Freight 8ton air over hydraulic ram. 689EED01-6AB5-4AC7-B763-ADA6916CA3DD.jpg

Thanks. I work for a water district now. Before I was a pipe fitter/welder for 10 years I’m also a welding instructor at my local community college.

Nice, I'm a fitter too, well apprentice. I've been running through my bend tests, hopefully by the end of the year I'll have my UA21 (2in xxs 6g 6010 root 7018 out not sure if you were a union hand or not) and I can trick them into giving me J-man money a couple years early.

Very nice job on the rack OP. It looks very nice. For those interested in a tubing bender. JD2 is very good quality. I too run the JD2 model 3 with the swag bracket and harbor freight air over hydro ram. Really can’t beat it. NASCAR tube chassis are built using JD2 benders so I think we’re in good hands with these benders

Was not in the union. I had my ASME 6G in CS and SS.

Nice job man. I so can’t wait to see it all painted. I think it’s going to look real good on your black truck.

That's awesome. I wish I had a bender when I made mine. I made it work but nowhere as clean as yours.

Real nice man. I like how you were able to get it to go over the canvas top. Good work.

Thank you brother! You built a sweet rack. Much appreciated.
Can’t wait to mount the tent on it.
Couldn’t believe I was fortunate enough to see the sun shine today.

Thanks man!! Yeah it wasn't fun though haha. It was tough making it fit. Especially since I've never welded or fabricated in my life. I just went to harbor freight and got tube notcher to make it work. Also got the welder for a hell of a deal on craigslist. Pretty happy with it.

I eventually got a RTT and made a wind deflector for it as well. It helped my mileage on road trips.
