Just upgraded from a short-bed to long-bed Tacoma, planning to chop up this rack and stretch it to fit but wanted to see if any DCSB owners were interested first. RTT, spare wheel, fuel cans, tools, etc not included.

All the tubing is 1.75x.120 steel. It rests on the bedsides (after removing the plastic caps) to bolt into the rails, and 4 legs bolt directly to the bed bolts. Tie-down points at each corner, a panel on the Left-side for attaching tools, and a toolbox on the right-side over the wheel well.

Tire/Fuel swingarm is mounted on a double-shear hinge and secures closed with a 1/2" bolt. Standard 6x5.5 tire mounting plate and a CBI single fuel can holder welded directly to the arm.

Never weighed it fully assembled, but this rack is substantially overbuilt and pays a bit of a weight penalty because of it.

Materials and supplies alone to fabricate a new long-bed version would probably run me $1,000 so I'd be asking at least that to make it worthwhile selling.

The swingout is custom made for and welded to the rack, I think you'd be better off starting from scratch than trying to adapt it. Plus if I was going to start cutting things, I'll just go with my original plan of stretching the rack to fit the longbed.

    But thanks for the interest.

Pretty sure he won't separate, as stated above, the swingout was custom made for the rack so if he separated he wouldn't have anyone to sell the swingout to.

OP, long shot, but any chance you'll be in Southern California anytime soon? If we can find a way to make this work, I want this. Does the swingout lock by chance?

I don't think I'll be down there anytime soon, we had talked about hitting up Yosemite/Death Valley early summer, but looking unlikely now.

I did not incorporate a lock into the swingout, but it would be easy to add a place to put a padlock. A more integrated lock would probably be possible as well, but I've never thought about it. I've got a popnlock on the tailgate, a locking lugnut on the spare tire and a tiny padlock that honestly won't stop anyone on the fuel can. If someone was carrying around a 1" wrench and wanted to walk off with 150lbs of swingout, tire,&fuel there's nothing stopping them.

what do you think the approx. weight of that sucker is? I have a Bilstien lift with a 2 leaf AAL in the rear..... did you have to get a ewhole new leaf pack to support the weight? (ie. dakars/deavers/all pro expos) and is the tool box mounted to the rack? If so is it detachable.... not really in need of the box!? but very interested....... love the custom work looks great!!

I'm roughly guessing around 250lbs for the rack&swingout, could try to weigh it tomorrow by doing one side at a time. The toolbox is just bolted on and easy to remove. I put Firestone airbags in the rear so I could easily adjust based on whether the bed was empty or a full ~800lbs weekend load. The tail would definitely sit low if I let all the air out of the bags, but I can't say whether it would put it all the way to the bumpstops or not on stock springs. Sorry, that doesn't answer your question very well, but let me know if I can provide any other info.

I built most of it myself. Had someone with a bender bend the tubing for me and an experienced welder did the critical welds (like where the tire carrier attaches to the hinge, huge amount of force when loaded and I didn't want to warp the hinge), but the rest was pretty easy welding so I did it myself with a 230v MIG.
