Will our MT retainers have issues?

Nah. As far as I know, the past 20 have worked perfectly.

I just want to complete the 6 o'clock lug as mentioned earlier in the thread(or the original thread I forget), so I revisited the design in my down time. My stock knob came with a damaged 6 o'clock lug, but I didn't know it was abnormal until others shot me a few pics. This is why the current design lacks a feature that your stock knob likely has. Considering it is made from metal, the other two are more than sufficient. The third still engages a little, but it could be improved. I'm probably just being a pedant.

Outside of that, there is one area of concern. I can see it being an issue if I run at the upper end of my tolerances that I set. I rubbed a little Chrome paint off the new collar, and if this one feature were only .01 bigger it might not fully seat. I want to eliminate that potential, just so it's not in the back of my mind during future runs.

Also, I noticed that the Chrome retaining ring is just zip tied in place. Reaaally tempted to make my own collars and simplify the whole process as a result. Plus, it gets rid of Chrome ... Which is always a bonus.

I know, sorry ... but I truly was going to leave it alone until I had to pay 85 bucks to replace that stupid collar piece. This is more my way of sticking it to Toyota than actual need or desire to make yet another part.

Just a heads up, since I'm getting a lot of requests still ... and things are piling up a bit in my PM box.

I cannot take orders, and not only are these the rules here ... I just personally will not take your money until I know you will get your products immediately. Too many sellers have come on here, taken money ... and disappeared without a trace. I won't be that guy, so please don't take offense to my rejections of preorders.

I would like to just make another batch like I had in the OP, and then sell them off again. BUT, now we have lots of different variations of the original product.

So, I need some help. PM me what you would order, and this will help me make the parts to sell in here when they are complete. I might get stuck with those who don't pay in the end, but that is my reality here, and there is no way around it.

I would need a business license to comply with the site rules for taking orders, but I do not have one. Just give me the direction, and I will produce another thread much like this one in the near future.

    Thanks for understanding.

Pictures please. I may need to cerakote mine as well, yours looks killer. I know the stainless is nice, but I didn’t get it for the finish, I got it for the weight.

Do you have pictures of a finished Delrin knob for an automatic?

I would be really interested in a derlin one for a manual as well. It gets too hot where I live!

I might have jumped the gun when I responded. My bad. How much would a derlin shift knob weigh? Might be interested in a weighted derlin shift knob. I know you are still working on the autos right now though.

Solid delrin would be really close to stock weight for the MT, about 150g.

The aluminum core itself is only 70g, so using that with the delrin isn't going to net much of a gain ... maybe 30g more, tops. Stainless core is about 200g, and will be about 300g total with a delrin shell much like I make for the other hybrids.

Okay, so out of that last batch of 4 hybrid MT knobs that I made ... I still have one. Putting it up for sale right now.

It is slightly smaller than 2-1/4" diameter (2.170"), and is already engraved with my default 6spd pattern on top ... and Tacoma on both sides. $120 plus ship(no engraving charges for this one).

Total weight is 485g. 316ss outer shell, and 6061 aluminum core. I have a few guys in line for MT, but this one doesn't fit any current requests.

Boot connection has a few updates as well, and fits perfectly on my truck.

That looks killer @orangeracer. Amazing that you were able to paint inside the TRD engraving.
