I do not offer painting service. Anything you see with a finish in here has been done by the buyer.

I will, however ... most likely offer anodize and/or cerakote at some point if I can send out a batch large enough to absorb the cost.

Here is a pic of how the AT knob is fitting, still a little bit of work to do. The shape matching is close, but could be a lot better, IMO. Also, the tabs were too stiff ... which was kinda expected considering the brittle material it was printed with.

BUT, I'm still going to dish out the mounting face to extend the length of the tabs a bit for additional insurance that the final product will flex (shown in blue).

This is pretty fiddly, and might take a while to get it right ... considering I do not have an AT truck to work with. I might just have to develop my own collar before finishing this, just so I can get potential orders processed for both AT/MT.

EDIT: disregard this paragraph, I found my answer. If anybody feels comfortable taking the entire trim piece off, and have a look underneath the leather boot to see how the chrome retainer is attached (MT is zip tied), that would be super helpful. I think it just takes undoing of a few screws in the armrest, and pulling up on the trim to get it removed.

Either way, I don't see a way around it ... but I need a chrome collar piece in hand. Even if I have to stop at Conicelli Toyota to figure out a part number for the boot assembly, this has to happen at some point ... otherwise I will have to depend on the feedback of others to guide the development process along. Communication of details is quite difficult, and it obviously takes way longer.

This picture from that .pdf is super helpful, I just sent the parts department an email in hopes they can find it for me.

I didn't cerakote my knob myself, had a pro do it. His work, prices, turn around times are unrivaled, but if anyone wants his info just PM me, he does all kinds of stuff for different types of vendors. He did my knob and had it shipped out in 2 days.

They got back to me within minutes, but gave me the part # for the manual boot. I replied with the correction (and my order# from a couple weeks ago as proof that I own the part number he gave me), and haven't heard since. We'll give him one more day, and I guess I can try Olathe Toyota ... they seem to be pretty competent in my previous dealings with them.

Yep. Just let me know if it keeps being an issue. It's a problem that is too easy to fix.

Olathe Toyota sent me this part number ...

Either it's completely wrong, or you can't get the boot without purchasing this entire assembly. Bummer.

Not a whole lot of freedom on the lathe right now to make the backlog of stainless hybrid spheres (for AT and MT), so I focused on some of the milling updates for the MT design.

6 o'clock lug is complete now, and I tightened up the radius for both side lug undercuts(by about 1/64" or .5mm). This made for a weird transition to an adjacent feature, so you will notice that I simply cut right through it to resolve the issue. I didn't need to keep that lonely non-functional island up top, but without it present ... kinda reminded me of this

Haha, okay ... so Conicelli got back to me on the part number. I had some back and forth with Derek Jenkins ...

    This is what he said.

I told him that was for the wrong truck, I specifically asked for 2016 TRD-OR. He wanted a VIN after that, I just said it was a gift.

    His response

    My response ...

    "You have?"

Just heard back from corporate ...

    my email to them ...

    Their response ...

So they are basically telling me .... "Sorry you have had trouble finding this part through dealership parts departments, you should try using dealership parts departments."

Derek from Conicelli just got back to me again with this part number, 35978-04010 ... which is the same # Olathe Toyota gave me, so that's probably it. I'm definitely not paying $250-$300 just to get the stupid boot retainer.

That’s ridiculous how difficult it is to get a part...and that cost too! Good thing I have a manual.

    I wish.

The darker metal is stainless, lighter is aluminum ... and black delrin.
