Besides the swap thread, a lot of folks have Plastidip'ed them:

Dude, that's just delightfully old school and straight up, especially in a world where the scam-to-real ratio on Craigslist replies has escalated to ridiculous levels.

I get super neurotic when I have money from somebody. Deposits (at the very least) are a necessary evil for custom work, because it brings forward those who are very serious about it, and protects me from doing a lot of work for no reason at all. However, I really don't enjoy being in that kind of debt ... so to speak. Which also means, that if one changes their mind before I put in a minute of work ... I'm super happy to refund them.

I'll usually tell people it might take me 3 weeks of chipping away at a custom order, but I tend to put them to the front of the line and get it done ASAP just to keep myself from chewing my fingernails away.

Prinsu (before they were sold, if that even happened?) and Flossy are great examples of really poor execution of really nice products.

Even if I were a legitimate business (on paper), it is still only me doing this. If something unfortunate were to happen to me, there is nobody to back me up and settle lingering debts. If I were in a buyer's position, it would still piss me off that I lost $100 because the producer died in a vehicle accident .. haha. Call me cold, but that's just being human.

I have learned a lot in the past 5 mos (how long I have been doing this). I still do not have it figured out, not even close!

My philosophy is to develop and/or make quality items that people want. Then, take the compensation when it is logically permissible. I only wish the gray area wasn't so friggin' huge, but there is always going to be a leap of faith required on either side of the transaction.

I desperately need a lathe, a good horizontal band saw, a reliable air compressor, and then stronger/more rigid machines with electrical service to support them to improve times and ability to perform more work in a given time. It never ends! Taking any available order could make that happen pretty rapidly, but anyone with half a brain can see that improves chances of long term failure by keeping customers waiting.

TL;DR version: I don't know how to take compliments.

Haha, it gets even better ...

Isn't too bad, but then again I've been doing this for about 19 years now.

So I was the first person to receive these life savers. Haven’t painted them yet just wanted to make sure they fell into place. Great work @7r41lbr34k3r and @tonered! image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

Excellent! That's what I like to hear.

I fell a little short of my goal yesterday, but not by much. Should have the last 4 in this pic finished when I can find 2hrs somewhere.

Okay, 3 sets remaining. They will need prep and paint since my "painter/coater" is in Scotland right now.

You guys are up, and I'll reserve them for you for 24 hrs (use post #55 time stamp as official time) before moving down the list. Once I reach the end, off to the 3rd gen parts marketplace they go!

$70 per set of two. Shipping will be an additional $7.20 flat rate for USPS priority (USA), and $16 flat rate to Canada. There is also a $25.95 option for Canada if you would like them to arrive in the estimated 6-10 day time frame. Cheaper $16 option (for Canada) will likely take more than 2 weeks, and this is what I typically use for sending out my shift knobs.

PayPal me using the friends option (Paypal address is 7r41lbr34k3r@gmail.com), or Venmo is good as well if you prefer that (Venmo ID is bakrch2). I am also set up for Zelle now, and bakrch2@gmail.com is my email for that.

There's plenty of envy to go around. I'm always looking for something, and hope to get one of these in my garage soon ....

    http://www.precisionmatthews.com/shop/pm-1236/

Really don't think I have enough work to justify it yet, but my finger is on the trigger.

Would be just under 6k shipped, with all of the bells and whistles I would get. Then, another 3k or so to CNC it at some point.
