Not exactly sure how the pricing for a 1st Gen manual trans works out price wise. Am I limited to certain materials? I was thinking either aluminum or stainless with the shift patter(outlined) and I remember you said it would need to have the copolymer ring. Would I need a hybrid core?

I haven't really worked out any details of the simple sphere style, but I plan to use the fixture I already made for @tonered's knob. I may go with a small brass insert for what I am thinking, but not going to charge extra for it. My idea will have a trivial impact on the final weight, so if you want to hit a target let me know and I'll figure out what needs to be done for a potential hybrid core situation.

Tim Savage (AKA Skweezy Jibbs) is his name, apparently.

Looks good if you plan to use Venmo for payment, but another $5 if PayPal is used.

I’m starting to wonder if this could turn into a lottery to get an order filled. This thread has received a lot of interest. I know the work you do is NOT a short process and you can probably only do so many. this for me my most important mod. Any idea if you’ll be doing another round if I end up not “winning the lottery this time”

The delrin material is solid black in raw form. OP doesn't do any coatings or coloring from what I've seen.

What is the OD of the material you purchase? I'm assuming it's like a 2.5 inch round bar stock. Would you be willing to do a custom knob shape in this batch for the right price? I know there's a lot of time involved in CAD but I figured it is worth asking.

I've already made my promises to the Mrs. for this year, so yes this is definitely the only batch for 2021. It is not uncommon for an order come in, then for whatever reason, it is abandoned before the payment/deposit completely locks it in. There very well might be a few spots that open up after a day or so, but given how long I have been inactive ... we shouldn't expect the "usual" to happen.

    That is correct.

    Correct!

2.5" or 2" for the main knob materials. I'm going to try to get 2" for Titanium to cut material costs down SIGNIFICANTLY, but this could mean copolymer ring version only.

As far as custom shapes, I may have to remove that option due to how slammed I will be with this batch. I always like to say yes to this, but when the workload is this high I am less likely to be forgiving with upcharges. @tonered and @su.brat can confirm I didn't get too crazy with their prices, but they had to wait forevvvvererrrrrr.

Got it! Is there any big downside to the Copolymer/Delrin over Al or SS? I like the black but don't want the knob to end up super scratched to crap like my current one is.

All knobs can scratch. That is more on the user. Above, you can see how my delrin knob is polished and scratchless after 2.5yrs. I've done nothing to it, but use it. It has been removed a handful of times for other mods.

My @7r41lbr34k3r AL tap handle looks the same.

If you want no scratches, SS would be the way to go. But, it is not indestructible.

Yeah, it's really tough to say. Everybody's hierarchy of needs is different. Copolymer is very resistant to scratching, but you can't fix it like you could on Al or SS. It's difficult to polish these without a lathe, but if you hack the end off the appropriate bolt size and grab it with a hand drill you are pretty set for upkeep on the metals.

Also, beware of burnishing if you wear a ring. Hard metal against soft metal (always relative), even if it doesn't nick or scratch will leave shiny streaks.
